Hark the herald angel not blowing bubbles - Just Magnolia week 85-Christmas + Sketch 'n' Stash challenge 50

Good morning everyone how are you all?...I cant find fat balls for my lovely little robin anywhere oh no is there a shortage I ask myself...anyone know how to make my own...hows everyone getting on with their Christmas shopping, I did the rest on mine online just the one Saturday in the town shopping was enough for me I think plus I couldn't find a pencil sharpener bit enough for my elbows...anyway onto my card for today which is for our new challenge at Just Magnolia which is a Christmas card, don't you love it when you can adapt a stamp for Christmas and this stunner, I just love colouring her hair, I think shes called Tilda blowing bubbles and I thought she made a fantastic herald angel without them....I coloured her with Distress inks and of course had to add a bit of sparkle, I think it works as an angel do you?...these stunning papers are from Kaisercraft from Bunny Zoe's Crafts, by the way you still have a few days to join in our challenge at Bunny Zoe's challenge, the ribbon and tag are from my stash, the fabulous sketch is from Sketch 'n' Stash challenge I thought it was perfect for this stamp...when you have time hop on over to Just Magnolia and have a look at the amazing creations by the rest of the team...have a wonderful day everyone and don't forget feed your local friendly neighbourhood robin

  9. Love it Mina, looks so gorgeous. My mum used to make those fat balls for the birds, but I am sure she used dripping and oats along with seeds, nuts etc;, whatever she had in really, all I know is we had alot of big birds in our garden...lol...xxx

  10. Such a fab card, tilda looks just fine without her bubbles, must admit that i doctor quite a few of my stamps to make them fit maximum occasions. Theres a fat ball recipe here www.instructables.com
You'll need to search from there though I'm afraid,
If I was clever I could copy and paste it but as I'm on my phone and not my laptop I'm flumoxed !!

  21. Mina, my Mum makes her own "fat cakes" for the birds all the time, she melts lard and then stirs in lots of mixed seeds then lets it set in a bowl before tipping out onto the bird table - hope that helps your poor little robin!

This Tilda works soooo well on a Christmas card hun I just love the gorgeous colours you've used too! Loving the word tag - still haven't opened mine LOL! hugs, Jane xxx

  28. Beautiful card, Mina - yes, she does look like an angel! And ya crack me up - what are fat balls??? And even though I don't have sharp elbows and I hate to shop, since I'm off today, I've gotta brave it. Weather isn't cooperating though - flash flood warning, storming, etc. Stay warm and have a good one!
