Thank you - Just Magnolia and Hanglar challenge week 88 Anything goes-extra option Buttons+Simon says Stamp New Beginnings+Sunday Sketch and Stamp

Good morning everyone and thank you all so much for your sympathies yesterday its really meant a great deal to us, a very much loved Aunt died her name was Joan and she was diagnosed with lung cancer while we were in England at the NEC, we were making plans to go to England to spend time with her at the end of January but the disease progressed rapidly and she died on Wednesday, it hit us really hard but at least we have our memories of her while she was alive, she was a smiling happy person with a tinkling laugh and a wicked sense of humour, she also loved Laurel and Hardy and I remember her laughing so loudly at her large collection of films she always made us laugh too so that's the way we will remember her...anyway onto my card for today which is for our Monthly challenge at Just Magnolia and Hanglar challenge, this week I fished out one of my few Hanglars, I haven't a clue what this baby is called but it came in a set, I coloured her with Distress ink and paper pieced her little romper suit and hat...the papers are from Kaisercrafts Candy Lane paper pad from Bunny Zoe's crafts, I finished with some lush wide ribbon and bow from my stash, I finished with a sentiment from the same stamp set and buttons...I'm entering this for the Simon Says Stamp new beginnings challenge and the sketch is from Sunday Sketch and Stamp...have a wonderful day and if you have someone you love who you haven't told for a while today's the day, give them a ring

  11. Hi Mina

    Hugs to you!
Thank you for sharing such sweet memories of your Aunt. I remember watching Laurel and Hardy movies as a kid with my parents.
The simplest of things can give us such great memories to treasure.

  12. Hi Mina. Beautiful card. Sweet image and the papers are gorgeous. Must have a go at paper piecing, as you make it look so easy. Sorry to hear about your Aunt but it is good that you have so many memories. Whenever you see Laurel and Hardy on tv, etc., you will think of her and have a smile on your face. My brother's wife has lung cancer, she is 38. It is on her tubes and can't be removed. She has had chemo twice and radiotherapy to try and shrink it a little. It is just one of those illness's that everyone knows someone who is suffering from it. Thoughts are with you and your family at this time. Take Care. Donna

  24. Hi Mina, thats a really lovely way to remember someone, the way to help is to shut your eyes and just allow that laugh to come into your mind and it will help. I lost my mum a year last November and I was the last person to speak to her the previous day, and thats the memory that has remained in my mind and her love for Terrys Gold Dark Chocolates.
I do love your card its gorgeous that ribbon is beautiful as are the papers. With love and hugs Shirleyxxxxxx
