its beginning to look a lot like......

Good morning everyone...I bet your singing now or at the very least humming lol...its is though isn't it beginning to feel a lot like Christmas it has that crisp frosty feel in the air...did you have a great Halloween, I'm gobsmacked at how much difference it has made just moving a few miles to where we are now...I went out to the local shops yesterday and about 6 people spoke to me saying hello just or nice day etc, but in fact more people spoke to me yesterday than in the whole time we lived in the other house it wasn't for lack of trying either, you know me I will speak or chat to anyone (its the Geordie blood in me lol) but people were so unfriendly I lived next door to the same woman for over two years and she still used to snub me when I saw her in Town and never replied to my hello's or anything, and we had about a dozen trick or treaters last night , . Last year we had one...it was lovely seeing a gang of them coming from a house down the street who were having a kids Halloween party, complete with a smoke machine and inflatable ghosts...I answered the door to about 8 of them all dressed up and cute as a button...all their parents were there too to make sure they were safe which was lovely too...its so friendly here I'm so so glad we moved...right now onto my card for today which is using another of the fab new digi releases from Sugar Nellie, this is the gorgeous My Friend Flakey, I coloured him with distress inks and used another lush paper from the My Minds Eye Winter Wonderland collection, this one is called In The Neighbourhood...I cut some of the fabulous houses out to add a bit more dimensions and finished with a couple of punched snowflakes and a sentiment made from the name strip on the paper (see we crafters throw nothing away do we lol)...I'm entering this for the ABC Christmas challenge, Divas by Design challenge and the Just Keep on Crafting challenge too...Its supermarket day today oh and my lovely Dad has to go buy some reading glasses because although he has the eyesight of a spring chicken since his ops he still needs them to read...I might even manage to persuade him to have his hearing checked while we are the opticians, fingers crossed...then I think its time for a put the world to rights coffee, it needs it doesn't it...whatever your up to today say hello to a neighbour you will never know how much they appreciate it

  12. You can tell how much you love fussy cutting. Great use of beautiful DP. Love the sparkly snowman too.

Good morning to you too neighbor. Isn't it wonderful how the internet erases all the miles? I feel like I have a whole bunch of friends from all over the world. Too bad you can't come over for a cup of coffee. I'd even make a coffee cake. LOL

    Have a wonderful day Mina.

  13. Well, at the beginning of the post you put one Christmas song into my head, and by the end I was humming "Winter Wonderland"... gosh darn it.

Your new neighborhood sounds awesome -- really a neighborhood rather than just houses that are next to each other!

I love how well you've coordinated the colors you used for the image with the colors of the paper... it really looks like it was part of a kit, that's how well they go together!

  24. Hi Mina - a gorgeous card - I love the image.
I'm so glad you love where you've moved to.
I have to admit I'm quite shy, so don't very often speak first but, if someone smiles at me or says hello first I always smile and say hello back. I do always smile and speak to my immediate neighbours though - just a pity that some of the children can't get along very well most of the time!
Did your Dad manage to get his hearing tested at the opticians LOL!???
    Love, Andrea xx

  25. Every cloud has a silver lining and yours is really sparkly! Love your card Mina but I really love how happy you are in your new home in your new neighbourhood after all your worry about moving and all your trouble finding the right house. Long may it continue. I'm off to post your candy on my blog now! Hugs, Lesley

  29. Glad you found a friendly neighbourhood to live in...It sounds ever so much better than the last one...full of friendly people here at this new house!!!

We have the RV up in a resort in a teensy little town. There are other teensy towns around us. I find there, everyone is friendly...men hold the door open for you, people smile and say hello. It seems a quieter pace of life and not a frantic as the city I live in. Luckily, on my street, people are friendly as there is a park just 3 doors down from me.
If I set on my front porch there is a steady stream of Mom's taking their kids to the playground and people taking their dogs for a walk. Many will say hello as they walk by...
In the shopping area about a mile away, no one says hello except the shop owners...It is sad.
    Gorgeous card!
