the great tomato debate...

Good morning everyone I hope your all well and having a great week...the weather was desperate again here yesterday...dull, grey and very very windy...my poor plants are getting battered too bits...its so bad Phil has taken to covering his tomato experiment with plastic in the hope it doesn't shrivel up and die...oh did I tell you about the great tomato debate?...we were at the garden centre a few weeks back if you remember and Phil wants to start growing tomato's...I said I thought it should be all about the taste and doesn't matter the size, shape or yield etc...Phil said he thought a bigger one would be better and one with a higher yield...I know fascinating isn't it, you can see how exciting our conversations are cant you lol...anyway we are having an experiment we have bought three kinds to see what does the best and has the best taste...I will keep you all informed that's if your all still awake lol

right now onto my card for today...Sugar Nellie is having a Leanne Ellis Spotlight week and I got to use this stunning haunting Leanne Ellis stamp for mine...this is the beautiful Pick Me and I coloured her with my distress inks and paper pieced her pretty little dress...I finished my image with some Pumice Stone distress ink distressing it to give a faded look to her...I'm not quite sure it worked but it seemed like a good idea at the time lol...the beautiful papers are from the  Echo Park's Victorian Garden paper pad. I only had these few sheets left as its an old pad from a while back...I loved the faded colours don't you...I edged the papers with distressing in the same way as the image too...I finished my card with some fab black lace, a black satin ribbon bow and a few pearls...the lush sketch is from the Sketch and Stash Challenge and I'm also entering it for the Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge and the Joanna Sheen Challenge too...keep popping by the Sugar Nellie blog all week for some stunning makes from my team mates, they are so super talented...wow did you see Pats yesterday?...I'm having another crafting day today as I'm still playing catch up...whatever your up to today have a brilliant one

for all you digi lovers...

Good morning everyone sorry I'm a bit late...I was sick yesterday, I think it was something I ate but it hit me a bit and knocked me off my feet...hopefully its gone now (well there cant be much left lol)...so back to normal, we have had two days of the most glorious weather but normal weather has been resumed and this morning is cloudy and drizzly as usual, well that didn't last long did it and the temperature has plummeted from 20 to 12 degrees, in other words normal for Northern Ireland lol...isn't it strange how we take our own area for granted I was watching a tv programme about the north coast while I was in bed yesterday and it was about the Giants Causeway, now this is only a few miles from us but its years and years since we were there and I had totally forgotten how amazing it is...it got me thinking about all the places around here that are real crowd pullers but we never go to...I feel a bit of research coming on and a few trips out...just goes to show you should check out your own area every now and again and visit all the things you forget is there doesn't it...right now onto my card for today and its one for all you digi lovers...I love Sweet Pea stamps but haven't many as they are so far away, although Crafts and Me do sell a lot of them...did you know they sell digis?...no me neither...I saw an ad for them on facebook last week and couldn't resist...I spent ages deciding what to buy but managed to get it down to three Elaine Cox digis to start with...isn't this fantastic Elaine Cox's Maggie digi just stunning...look at those amazing eyes...I coloured her with distress inks and of course glittered her wing, I used just one sheet of Kaisercraft - Pickled Pear 6.5"x6.5" Paper Pad I bought from Bunny Zoe's Crafts for the sketch I used...the sentiment is from the same pad and I finished with a Prima flower...the sketch is from Sketch Saturday Challenge and I'm also entering it for the Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge and the Crafty Creations Challenge (old is the paper and new is the image) too...there goes the hole in my head again lol...I'm resting up today as I still feel a bit wobbly on my feet and my stomach aches a bit but that might be hunger...whatever your up to today I hope your well and happy and have a brilliant one

just a few flowers...

Good morning everyone are you doing anything exciting today?...my lovely Sister and her wonderful family are coming for a visit with my Dad to help celebrate his Birthday...I cant wait to see them, we don't see each other as often as we should do, things always seem to get in the way don't they...the appointment at the audiologists went excellent yesterday and as expected her charmed her to bits...he has lost a lot of top and bottom range from his hearing and needs two hearing aids...but good thing is they will make life so much easier for him and they are tiny so very discreet which is what he wanted and even better they will be fitted in two weeks time how excellent is that...I cant wait to see his face when he can hear again...brilliant start to his Birthday celebrations isn't it...right now onto my card for today which is using another of the fabulous Janey's Digi Designs, this is the beautiful Freesia image...these are my all time favourite flowers I love the smell of them and they are like an instant smile for me too...I coloured them very softly with my distress inks and teamed them up with some loose sheets from one of my Prima pads I bought from Bunny Zoe's Crafts (there's a store wide sale on at Bunny Zoe's atm, 10% off so click on the link at the bottom to go straight there)...in fact they might be from two of them as there is always a few loose sheets in my pad drawers...I finished with some ribbon and a lush black satin bow...I haven't a clue where the fab sketch is from but if one of you know then let me know so I can credit them with it...I am entering this for the Crafting for all Seasons Challenge, Fussy & Fancy Friday Challenge and the Ribbon Girl challenge too...I'm off to get the old war paint on to head out for lunch with Phil, then an eye appointment for my Dad and then the arrival of my Sister...oooohhhhhh a busy day ahead I think lol...whatever your up to today I hope its a brilliant one for you all

never trust a man with the remote ...

Good morning everyone did you all have a fantastic day yesterday?...we went to the market but it was hardly worth it, just a measly half dozen or so stalls but we did manage to get some of our precious smoked garlic bulbs yum yum yum they are amazing in pasta sauce especially the seafood one I make and the mushroom and bacon one (can you tell we love pasta lol)...we went for lunch and treat ourselves to a yummy ulster fry, gorgeous but heartburn city for the rest of the afternoon though, so after our trip to get indigestion tablets for melol we had a little mooch around the shops and then off to meet my Dad for coffee and to buy him some new Christmas lights for his house as his have broken...then home to vegetate in front of the telly for the rest of the night, oh except for Phil making a Dundee cake for my Dad, he loves them and the store bought ones don't cut it for him anymore, so Phil makes him one every year and boy did it smell amazing...Phil switched the tv over to some rubbish new version of Predator last night then after about 40 minuets watching it he fell asleep would you believe don't you hate it when they do that, never give a man the remote he abuses the trust lol...I'm in charge of it from now on I think...right now onto my card for today which is using this stunning digi from Crafts and Me...isn't she beautiful, shes called Gift of Winter and I coloured her with distress inks...wow isn't this Basicgrey papercombo just lush, its from their Nordic Holiday collection and is called Lift Ticket...I love the rich colours and all those flowers to cut out too, which is what I did, well it would have been a waste not too wouldn't it...I finished with the cut flowers and a huge green bow...I'm entering this for the BasicGrey Challenge, Sweet 'n' Sassy challenge and the Fussy and Fancy challenge too...we are heading to Londonderry today which is our closest big city, well when I say big I mean as big as they get here lol...whatever your up to today have fun and remember to keep the remote away from the men in your life it makes them fall asleep

we have light...

Good morning everyone have you anything fabulous planned for today?...I didn't go out at all yesterday finished what I needed too and then had to wait in for an electrician to come to mend a couple of switches and the front porch light that refused to work no matter what we did...but we finally have light and visitors after dark don't have to grope their way around lol...then my lovely Dad was down for dinner so not a quiet day but a one where things got done...oh btw a few of you have asked about how my smoking is going, well I'm still not smoking...wow nearly three weeks now I didnt think that would ever happen...mind there as been a few temper tantrums and days I thought of chasing after people walking past smoking to mug them for it lol, but I resisted and poor Phil is getting used to me snapping his head off bless him but hopefully that will pass, sooner better than later would be better though for Phil's sake...right now onto my card for today...how amazing is this beautiful image from Mo's Digital Pencil, perfectly Christmassy isn't it...its called Taste of Winter and I coloured her with distress inks...the amazing papers are more from the Echo Park - Winter Wishes paper pad from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...I finished with a lush ribbon and bow and a punched glitter snowflake...the fabulous sketch is from Simon Says Stamp challenge and I'm also entering it for the Bearly-Mine challenge and the Fussy & Fancy Friday challenge too...we are heading to a Christmas Craft and antiques fair this morning then out to lunch and meeting my Dad a bit later to get him a new tv for his kitchen and put an aerial up for it...so a busy day ahead I think and maybe buying something pretty and lush from the fair, you never know do you...whatever your up to today I hope its a wonderful one

some days are so lucky...

Good morning everyone, I hope everyone is safe and sound and that all my American friends haven't been touched by the devastation that is Superstorm Sandy...nature is so beautiful most of the time but can be very cruel sometimes...I like most of us in the UK watched the news unfold with bated breath and hoped that this time wouldn't be too bad and only property would bear the brunt...I'm so sorry to say it wasn't and my heart goes out to the people whose lives were touched by death and destruction...some days are so lucky arent they and you end up feeling so glad to be alive...we went out to dinner last night, just a lovely quiet meal at a seaside town for the two of us...it was a fabulous dinner and of course we ate too much lol...we left about 7.30 so it was dark and Phil crossed the road just ahead of me, of course I looked before I crossed, always do, I learnt my green cross code at school lol...a motorbike was bombing up the road without its headlight on and spotted me at the same time as I spotted him...I knew it wouldn't miss me and know enough about bikes (thank you Phil) to know it would be easier for him to try and go round me than for me to run and for him to try and dodge me...so I just closed my eyes and waited for the thud...when I opened them the bike had stopped about 30cms (12 inches) away from me and Phil was standing on the pavement with his mouth open...some days when you walk away from something like that you feel utterly blessed...that will teach me to eat too much lol...right now onto my card for today which is for our new challenge at Crafts and Me Challenge which this time is our wonderful Nic's (Coops) choice, she chose the theme of Bling It Up...I used this beautiful Horn of Praise by Sara Burrier from Crafts and Me for my card...stunning isn't she...I coloured her with distress inks and glittered the sun and her wings...the amazing paper is from the Graphic 45 8x8 Paper Pad - Olde Curiosity Shoppe pad from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...gorgeous colours isn't it, did you know some people in Northern Ireland consider the peacocks feathers to be really bad luck (full of useless information aren't I lol)...I finished with loads and loads of blue gems...the fab sketch is from Sunday Sketch and Stamp but as I didn't use a stamp I cant enter it...but I am entering it for the Fussy & Fancy Friday Challenge, Anything Goes Challenge and The Crafty Blogger's Network challenge...I'm off out today I feel in the need of a mooch, well we all do sometimes don't we...whatever your up to today take care crossing the roads and stay safe

are you still hopping along - Day Three Under The Sea

Good morning everyone welcome to Day three of our Under The Sea hop...are you enjoying the sneak peeks?...I'm fed up with the sight of black bin bags and poor Phil is even more fed up with his many journeys to the skip, I'm trying to be ruthless and throw away anything I haven't used in a year but its so hard isn't it...I'm sure I met myself coming up the hall twice yesterday and if I don't stop running round in circles I'm going to disappear lol...anyway back to the hop you should have arrived here from the fabulous
PAT
but if you didn't and want a chance to win some prizes then hop on over to the wonderful Jane's blog to start at the beginning

...this is the stunningly beautiful (my personal favourite) AquaMarina...isn't she fabulous?...I coloured her with my usual Distress inks and glittered her outfit, I kept the design really simple this time using a Kraft card blank and some stunning Kars paper (sorry I don't know the name of it there's nothing written on it), I cut a circle for her to sit in...I finished with some white card punched with a lace punch, a scattering of fabulous clear gems and a ruffled bow...

I'm the last stop on the hop but don't forget to leave a comment on all the stops including the Sugar Nellie Blog...you don't have long to wait as the stamps go on sale at 10am on the 3rd August at Funkykits...I will be back as usual tomorrow morning at 7am and the next blog hop day is Friday...I'm sitting in today as its my Dads operation and my stomach is churning for him and I wont be able to settle until I hear from him, oh well its a good excuse to do yet more clearing and packing will it never end I ask myself lol, whatever your up to today have a brilliant one and enjoy the rest of the hop

its a double...I really need a diary...

Good morning everyone I hope the weather is a bit better where you are, its has been raining here for about 24 hours and is so so cold...its more January than May...we are off on a sad little jaunt today, Phil's boss gave him today off to go down to the farmhouse to finish off signing documents and papers needed to tie up any loose ends, kinda sad but we have decided to make it a day out and stop a few times at an antique village and for breakfast...we are making this the start of a new chapter rather than the end of one...that's the way to do it don't you think...onwards and upwards...Phil seems ok about things and that would be the only thing I would really worry about...my lovely Dad and I were having our 'PTWTR' coffee yesterday and guess who arrived back, yep you guessed it the 'builders bum' girl, same trousers different top...my Dad says 'Mina go pull that girls trousers up will you its putting me off my tea again', now him being a bit deaf you can imagine how loud that came out lol...he is so dry and funny and always makes me giggle...right now I have to get on as its a double day...

LinkI seriously need to buy myself a diary as I have two Guest spots today so this is quite a long post I'm afraid...soz...I was lucky enough to win a Guest spot on the Fussy & Fancy Friday challenge blog, their theme for this fortnights challenge is Butterflies, Ribbons & Punches and you still have a week to enter it...I chose this amazing Bildmalarna - Tulips stamp and I used her with some of the amazing new Magnolia papers this one is called Magnolia Forget Me Not 12" x 12" Paper, stunning isn't it, I bought the stamp and punch from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...the punches I used are a Tonic doily one and the Martha Stewart Butterfly punch, I punched it twice once in white to make a white underlay for it...I finished with a gorgeous blue ribbon...the fab sketch is from the Card Patterns weekly sketch blog

my next card is for the Stamp Fairy Blog who kindly asked me to do a couple of Guest spots for their new releases...how cute is this little fella called Barry Moving and you can get him at the Stamp Fairy shop, I love white teddies so kept him white with shading and a cute pink nose...the lush papers are from My Minds Eye-A Happy Heart 6x6 pad, I bought this at the Kings Hall craft show at a bargain price its such a lush coloured paper pad too, I love it...I finished with a rippled ribbon and bow, a few buttons and a freebie circular sentiment from the Stamp Fairy Shop...the fab sketch is from the Sketch File challenge...phew that was a long one wasn't it, thanks for sticking with me

I used distress inks for both my images of course...btw a few people have asked me about tutorials for distress ink colouring, its not that I dont want to show you all how I do it, its just I'm absolutely rubbish at tutorials and they take me days and days to make, but I promise next week I will sit down and do my best to right out a post explaining the best I can how I do it and what I use if you think it will be of any help...I'm off to put some war paint on now for our little jaunt (I dont even put the bin out without at least masscara and lippy on)...whatever your up to today I hope it stays dry for your and if you have time pop on over to The Stamp Fairy Blog and the Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge blog to see my posts...ooohhhh two in one day how chuffed am I lol

watch out for that sympathy fairy...she will creep up and bite you in the butt...

Good morning everyone, thanks for all your good wishes, I'm feeling loads better, still sore throat but not as bad feeling which makes all the difference doesn't it, I think my day lying around watching bad tv did me the world of good, I'm not sure Phil will agree when he hears my cough though...a word of warning today I forgot to mention that last week I tripped up the stairs and fell with my hand onto the vacuum, I whacked my wrist and boy did it smart, I was fine but it left a big blood blister welt across my palm where I fell across the the vacuum foot...so I was talking to Phil that night and was telling him, although like you hes used to me being a klutz by now, did I get sympathy...er...no lol...his reply 'were you drunk, did you have floppy socks on or did you trip over your jim jams' oh yes ha ha very funny says I...well last night I was chatting on the phone to him and he was telling me he went for a walk across the fields at the farmhouse and tripped, whacked his hand on a stone and grazed him chin....so did I give him sympathy...er...no lol...I said ' were you drunk, did you have floppy socks on etc etc'...see watch out for the sympathy fairy she will bite you on the bum when you least expect it lol...right now onto my card for today which is using this fantastic Chocolate Smile from Mo's Digital Pencil, only the wonderful Mo could draw that smile...I coloured her with distress ink and teamed her up with these amazing papers from the new Echo Park -This and That Charming 6x6 paper pad I bought from Bunny Zoe's Crafts, gorgeous papers aren't they...fantastic colours...I added a couple of ads from the same paper pad and finished with some buttons, pins and a distressed green gingham ribbon...the lush sketch is from the Fussy and Fancy Challenge and I'm also entering it for the Cute Card Thursday challenge and Really Reasonable Ribbons challenge too...I'm going to see how I am later and might just take a little walk into town, or maybe not as it snowed and hail stoned here yesterday so might just stay in the warm...whatever your up to today remember give sympathy as you never know when you might need it back lol

I love a bit of colour...

Good morning everyone, I hope your all keeping well and are happy...I had another crafting day yesterday but it was one of those days when you seem to do loads but nothing gets finished if you know what I mean...I played and coloured and cut but finished nothing I should have but had fun playing anyway...I really must go out today though, I had all intentions of yesterday but yes you guessed it the rain fell from the heavens lol...now I'm not allergic to rain or like the wicked witch melt in it or anything like that (honestly) I just hate mooching round town in it is all...when you in the mood for a mooch you certainly don't want a soggy mooch do you, have you noticed I seem to have turned into the weather police lol...I did finish this card and felt in the need of loads of colour and you cant say this paper isn't colourful can you...the papers are from the Basicgrey Sweet Threads 6x6 paper pad from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...isn't it so bright, colourful and joyful...love it...I teamed it up with this stunning Zorana A Dancing Gypsy from Saturated Canary...I just about used every colour distress ink I could think off on my Gypsy and isn't she just beautiful...as the paper was so colourful I just added a lush pink satin ribbon and bow and a gorgeous twisted metal Fancy Heart Charm to finish...the lush sketch (I love the hearts behind the image) is from the Sketch N Stash challenge and I'm also entering it for the Joanna Sheen Challenge and Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge too...whatever your up to today have a brilliant one

roll on the spring...

Good morning everyone, did you all have a fabulous weekend?...we did nothing yesterday at all, we were meant to go to town but I wasn't feeling too well and fell asleep at 2pm yesterday afternoon and didn't wake until 8pm would you believe...and I was still in the same spot I fell asleep in, woke with a really stiff neck though...ouch and I woke up after Phil had gone back to work so missed him leaving, I hate doing that...I think its the time of year you know as everyone seems to be the same, after all the hustle of Christmas things in January are very very quiet aren't they and I think we could all do with some fun and sun, so sign up below for a holiday away and we will all go somewhere warm for a crafting holiday oooohhhhh or how about a crafting cruise...anyone up for it lol...onto my card for today which is for our new challenge at Bunny Zoe's Crafts challenge, this month our lovely Bettina chose the theme and its a inspirational photo challenge...my photo is once again rubbish because of the weather to get any photo at all I had to use the overhead light and that was in the morning too, roll on the sunshine of spring I say and it might give my mojo the boot up the bum it needs too...I chose to use this beautiful little Whimsy stamp called Valerie & Kitty Sitting Pretty, so cute isn't it and coloured it with distress inks...the lush papers and tag are from the Kaisercraft English Rose 6x6 paper pad this pad is so lush and the colours are beautifully muted too, I finished with some soft pink bias binding and some of the flowers from the same pad cut out and raised around the sentiment...I added some more of those lush Kaisercraft Resin flowers in Fuchsia as I cant resist them...I used the fab sketch from the Totally Gorjuss challenge and I'm also entering it for the Fussy & Fancy Friday challenge too...I'm going to have a rummage through my stash day to see if I can jump start my mojo...if your hiding it own up so I don't have to hunt for it lol...whatever your up to today have a brilliant one

how many is too many?...

God morning everyone, well Phil has Hypertension, his blood pressure went so high yesterday that the doctor gave him medication to bring it straight down with a crash...apparently he has primary hypertension which means there is no medical cause like kidneys, liver, heart disease etc which is a relief but I hate Phil being not well I'm so not used to it and would rather be ill a dozen times myself than see him ill once...the Doctor said that the medication he has put him on for everyday along with the advice and info he gave us should bring it under control pretty fast, phew...of course Phil is insisting he go back to work on Monday and although I don't want him to the doc says if his blood pressure is stable it may be a good idea to get back into his routine asap, anyone of you who has any experience of this your advice would be greatly appreciated...he seems relaxed enough though I watched him like a hawk yesterday, I haven't a clue what I expected to happen but I think I could have done with one of his tablets by the time he went to bed lol...sorry I haven't been commenting as much as usual I am trying but am finding it hard to concentrate atm, but I will catch up with you all I promise...right now onto my card for today, about time I hear you cry lol...today I used this stunning new Steampunk House digi from Crafts and Me, I love this house so used it by itself and tried something new too I did a cloudy sky, I used distress inks and did it freehand, I think it worked ok don't you?...the amazing paper is a sheet I found a few days back I have had it for ages and its by G.C.D Studios and is from their Ava Collection called Bloom, I added some ribbon and a stamped sentiment, the lush flower embellishments I cut from the paper, I love cutting out and find it so relaxing, just how many flowers is too many do you think?...the fab sketch is from The Sweet Stop challenge, I promise the sketch is there lol...I'm also entering this for the Lollipop Crafts anything Goes challenge and the Fussy and Fancy Try a new Technique (the sky) challenge too...I'm off to the supermarket with my Dad today who bless him is worried about Phil too so I will have to get him some reassurance coffee I think...whatever your up to today have a wonderful one
