Roses On Paper challenge 24 - a Christmas Card

Happy Monday everyone I hope you all had a great weekend...Im still up to my eyeballs in my 'gang' of Magnolias but they wont beat me lol...so I thought I would use one of my samples today (sorry but I think most of cards will be Magnolias this week) to enter the Roses on Paper challenge which is to make a Christmas card...I used these fab little skaters, so cute arnt they, and coloured them with a mix of Copics, distress ink and Whispers...this amazing paper although fantastic and doublesided seems to be hiding under my pile of images and papers to do somewhere but I will find it and tell you who makes it...I love the mix of red and blue...I cut some of the song and mounted it as a tag and cut some of the holly leafs and added some buttons from my stash and finished with a wooden reindeer I bought ages ago from a local shop and coloured with a red copic.
Its good Im so busy with the samples as its keeping my mind of the show and I do love colouring them but I so wish the Magnolia shipment had arrived a little earlier so I had more time...right Im off back to the colouring if you dont hear from me in two days send a rescue party with replenishments of lady grey tea and distress inks lol
Enjoy the rest of your happy Monday everyone

Just Magnolia Monthly challenge and Tutorial By Chris Dark

Now my card today is for our new challenge at Just Magnolia and its based around our fabulous new distressing tutorial from the amazingly talented Chris Dark's...now distressing does not come naturally to me as all you lovely people who visit will know I'm a paper freak and the idea of ripping and tearing into my paper sends shudder up my spine lol...but I had a go and although the distressing isn't anywhere near Chris's its there...just lol...I use this fabulous little Tilda shes lovely her hair does it for me and that little pinny is sssssoooo cute don't you think...shes coloured with distress inks and I used this incredible double sided paper from Graphic45 from their Christmas past collections and its called Deck the Halls...lush isn't it, I used my new embossing punch and retro flower punch for my flower with a pearl topped brad from my stash, its hard to see the embossing on patterned paper though I finished with a glittered dark orange ribbons, this time I used it around the frame too...I hope you like it.
The rest of the DT's work is incredible and their distressing is much better than mine so hop on over to Just Magnolia to have a look if you have time.
