50 shades of grey and a splash of red...

Good morning everyone I hope you all had a fantastic week and are all well and happy...things and problems are a little better now but not quite there just yet but poor little Sumo cat isn't well bless her...she spent the last three days at the vets on a drip and loads of tests, x rays, scans and tablets...shes well enough to be home now but still isn't well...she had an enlarged liver, a blocked bile duct and they have found a large lump on her x ray but they aren't sure what it is...it doesn't sound too good does it...it was horrendous three of us trying to get her to take her tablets last night and she spent ages frothing at the mouth the poor little thing...she isn't eating so we cant hide them in her food at all so any hints from all you cat owners out there would be fantastic...omg how horrendously expensive are vets its way over board already and the treatment hasn't finished yet...fingers crossed she stays ok as shes about 13 years old and doesn't look too bad for her age, a bit round on the hips but aren't we all when we are getting on a bit lol...keep all your bits crossed for her please...right now onto my card for today, I love love love this rubber stamp Saturated Canary don't you...shes is called Blanche and I couldn't resist the grey and red for her...I coloured her with my distress inks and teamed her up with these stunning papers from Teresa Collins 6x6" Paper Pad - Far & Away which I'm sorry to say is out of stock, but the stamp, rose and papers came from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...I added a huge red checked bow and finished with a Ruffle Rose - Red just for another splash of red...I'm not keen on colouring with red distress inks because I always end up looking like I have been in a horror movie, it goes everywhere and always smudges but I really enjoyed colouring this beauty...the fab sketch is from the Papertake Weekly Challenge and I'm also entering this for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge and the Paper Crafting Journey Challenge too...I'm putting some war paint on and heading into town today I have been trapped in the house all week and feel a sudden urge for some retail therapy...have a great Saturday everyone and whatever your up too have fun...speak tomorrow

revenge of the red...

Good morning everyone do you have anything brilliant planned for today?, we wont be going far as poor Phil has to go into work this morning and wont be back until late lunchtime...I will give you a little hint for the future, when your planning a shopping trip with your Daughter...never, never, never wear high heeled boots because 4 hours later you will feel like your walking on broken glass lol...oooohhhhh what we go through for vanity...the reason we went on a little shopping trip was our Daughter has just got a brand new job and has to go away for three weeks for training...its a fantastic job and whats really important is its full time...she has been existing on a part time job since she was made redundant and has finally landed a fantastic managerial job again...my heart has been broken watching her struggle on a part time wage when she was used to a Managers wage but waiting finally paid off and she has the job of her dreams...so we had to go to town for a little make over shopping trip, new hairdo, makeup, clothes etc so she can look her best for her three weeks in a four star hotel (no of course I don't envy her lol)...I'm so thrilled and excited for her and hope she enjoys her time away even though it is for work...of course I will worry myself sick while shes away but at least I can feed her other half and keep him company so I still have my surrogate son to pamper lol...I know you will all wish her your best and keep everything crossed that things go smoothly because your such caring people but Im sure she really doesn't need luck shes brilliant at her job and is so clever...right now onto my card for today which just goes to show just when you think you have managed to get a handle on colouring with the dreaded red, it jumps up and bites you on the bum lol...I noticed when I uploaded this that the red on her lips mustn't have been dry properly when I made the card and has spread a little so she has much fuller lips than she should have...of course this stunning image is from Mo's Digital Pencil and is called Kitchen Dance c...amazing isn't it, I coloured it with my usual distress inks and how about these fantastic papers them...they have been designed by my mate Jak Heath, they are from the Romancing Paper Pack...how multi talented is that woman and would you believe you can get them for just £1...I cute some of the roses out for embellishments and used a beautiful satin ribbon to finish it off...the lush sketch is from the Feeling Sketchy Challenge and I'm also entering it for the Delightful Challenge and the Paper Crafting Journey Challenge too...I'm off to take something to settle my stomach as its churning at the thought of our Daughter driving all the miles she has too on her own...ooooohhhh the joys of parenting lol...whatever your up to today have a fantastic relaxing one

sometimes you dont need a lot...

Good morning everyone I hope your having a fantastic Easter break isn't the extra long weekend brilliant...are you doing anything exciting with your holidays?...Phil's away motor bike marshaling today so I have a whole day uninterrupted crafting ahead...its seems ages since I was in my craft room but its only been a few days really anyway I'm so looking forward to bit of cutting and colouring...we had a super quiet day today except for a visit to a DIY store to pick up some wood to mend one of the chairs on our garden set which seems to have had a bit of the front disappear for some strange reason, it probably got left in the move we think...but Phil is going to put his diy skills to use and mend it and its a lot cheaper than buying a new teak chair with arms, they weigh a ton too so don't fancy trying to load one in the car to bring home...right now onto my card for today which just goes to show you don't need a lot of colouring to make a pretty card doesn't it?...the image is from Janey's Digi Designs...I love the simplicity of this image don't you, its called Icelandic Poppy Seed Head...I just added a little bit of colour and some shading with my distress inks and included a sentiment by Keats when I was printing it, I thought it went brilliantly with the image, btw Janey is having a sale atm at Janeys Digi Designs, there's 20% just by entering the code EASTER20 at the checkout...the stunning embossed and flowered papers are from the Kaisercraft The Lakehouse paper pad I bought ages ago from Bunny Zoe's crafts...I'm gutted that these are the last few sheets from it and its out of stock but there's loads of new ones I will have to buy I think...I finished with a lush organza bow and a button...no matter how hard I have tried I cant find where this sketch is from but if any of you know leave me a comment so I can put a link in for it...anyway I'm entering this for the One Stitch at a Time challenge, Paper Crafting Journey challenge and the Craft Room Challenge too...I'm off to my lovely untidy craft room now for a lock in...whatever your up to today have fun

something not quite right...

Good morning everyone...are you all having a fab weekend?...right now quick question for you all, does this seem right to you, today is my birthday and I'm making dinner for everyone tonight...now isn't it supposed to be me sitting doing nothing and being waited on not the other way round lol. theres something not quite right about that situation isn't there?...well all the white stuff disappeared by mid morning here yesterday but we still didn't head for the car boot sale, it was freezing cold and we really didn't want to walk around teeth chattering, it kinda puts you off bargain hunting doesn't it...instead we went shopping for our dinner tonight...I'm cooking Chicken cacciatore, garlic mash, green beans and orange cheesecake with an Oreo base for dessert...sounds good doesn't it, even if I do say so myself...well all I can say is they better make up for the lack of being waited on with some amazing gifts lol, I'm just joking though I'm more than happy with a family dinner and not really bothered about gifts...I thank my lucky stars that I have so many of my loved ones around me to share dinner with...right now onto my card for today which is using another winter stamp although I used it a bit differently...this stunning beauty is by Hannah Lynn and is called Whimsical Winter and its from Crafts and Me...I coloured her with distress inks, I tried to make her dress look like it was velvet but I don't know if I managed it or not...what do you think?...I used these stunningly coloured summery papers from the Kaisercraft - Secret Admirer 6.5"x6.5" Paper Pad aren't they just lush and they make you want to sit in the sun smelling flowers (the sentiment circle is from the same pad), I bought this from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...I finished my card with a gorgeous coloured satin ribbon bow and a flower cut from the paper...I haven't a clue where the sketch is from I found it scribbled on a note pad...I am entering this for the Paper Crafting Journey challenge, Sweet 'n' Sassy digi challenge and the Card Crafters Circle challenge too...right I'm off to make my cheesecake as it take four hours to chill...oh before I go did you all like yesterdays post? should I do it every Saturday I would love to know what you think...wherever you are and whatever your up to today have a fun filled one

a cherub in blue...

Good morning everyone did you have a brilliant day yesterday?...well I didn't find any photo frames at the car boot sale but did buy some lush yummy homemade jam, Blackcurrant and Plum.....mmmmmmmmmmmm cant wait to try it with scones and cream...we did find a stunning vintage scrolled silver jewellery box which my Daughter just fell in love with, it was only £14 but it was a boot sale and a little bartering is called for isn't it, so I managed to get him down to an amazing £9, I would have probably got it for less but my Daughter wanted it so much she grabbed it at £9 and almost run away with it lol...a few of you admired the red teapot in the photo with the robins the other day, its actually tin and I got that at a boot sale in fact the pots with it too, they were the astounding price of 50p each (I didn't bother bartering that price lol)...we then met up with Phil who was finished work a little earlier than expected and went for lunch...I love days out with our Daughter and her other half like this, we should really do it more often but its hard fitting around everyones schedule...me I don't have a schedule and just go with the flow, plus I'm always ready for lunch out...right now onto my card for today which is using this amazing Mo's Digital Pencil image, isn't he just the most adorable little cherub, hes called Rafe and I coloured him with distress inks and paper pieced the bauble with this stunning double sided paper from the Echo Park Wintertime collection its called Flurry...to make the bauble look more 3d I distressed the edges with Pumice Stone distress inks, I think it makes it look rounder don't you think...I finished with some beautiful blue satin ribbon and a few pearls...the lush sketch is from the Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenge and I'm also entering it for the Charisma Cardz challenge, Crafty Catz Challenge and the Paper Crafting Journey challenge too...Phil's at work again this morning bless him, will this audit never end and although he says we should go out this afternoon I think he should relax for the afternoon hes needs a day of R & R hes been working so hard lately...whatever your up to today have a fantastic relaxing one

twinkle, twinkle...

Good morning everyone, what you got planned for this weekend? anything exciting...we don't have anything planned at all which is really nice after the last few whirling dervish months we have had...we are going to head into town early morning and have a huge breakfast together, then a little mooch around the shops looking for curtains for the living room and maybe a coffee mid morning...fabulous I'm chilling just thinking about it...it comes to something when shopping is our idea of relaxing lol...we even had a couple of mojitos last night we had a few on holiday and got hooked so I found a recipe and tried it out last night...they were nice but of course not as nice as on holiday...its a bit different sitting in 23c sipping and ice filled drink than sitting in our living room heat on full blast sipping a drink with too much ice in isn't it lol...right now onto my card for today which is using this gorgeous Sugar Nellie Heavenly Angel stamp, isn't she beautiful, I coloured her really softly and glittered the cloud and stars...the fabulous holly paper is from Rico Design it dosent have a name just a number...I don't normally go for paper this dark but I liked the contrast in the colours of the two sides...I finished with some metal stars and a few scattered pearls...the lush sketch is from Mojo Monday (love every one of their sketches) and I'm also entering it for the Cute Card Thursday challenge and Paper Crafting Journey challenge too...I'm off to get myself glammed up for my day out and my tum is rumbling at the thought of my ulster fry breakfast yum yum,we go to a teeny little cafe that sells the best one ever...should I tell you whats on it and make you hungry too...sausages, bacon, eggs, pancakes, potato bread, mushrooms, tomatoes and beans....mmmmmmmmmmmmmm lol...whatever your up to today have a brilliant one and enjoy your breakfast

oh no now I have started...

Good morning everyone are you having a brilliant weekend...well our front garden is done now...we have two smallish circular planting areas in a sea of pea gravel but they were just crammed with weeds so had to be tidied they were doing my head in every time I walked up the path to the front door...so we all trooped off to the garden centre yesterday (even my Dad came) and I bought some lush soft blue grasses, beautiful but they only had two left, I also bought some red grasses and lavenders...so we took a circle each (I got the smallest one thank goodness) weeded and planted and they are looking a little bare still but so pretty with all the colours and they match the house beautifully, the trim of the house is blue and the door is deep red wood and the lilac/purple will add a bit more colour...I should have taken a before photo shouldn't I but oops I forgot...I will take some photos now though although they would probably be better in a couple of months with the extra growth...I discovered I don't like wood lice at all uuuurrrrggghhhh...I was weeding a bit and felt a tickle on my hand, looking down there was about ten of them on my hand...one yell and a lot of shuddering later I was free of them but they did give me the judders...I will fish out the tags of the plants if anyone wants to know the name of the blue grass, the reddish ones are Cordilyns (sorry not sure of the spelling) and the Lavender is English lavender...right enough babbling about the garden Mina...did you all enjoy the hop yesterday? there's still loads of time to join in if you fancy winning some goodies, I seem to be on a Christmas roll now though...how cute is this gorgeous Mo's Digital Pencil sweetie...this is the fabulous Santa Kai, don't you just love his little jim jams poking out the bottom of his Santa coat...I coloured him with distress inks and paper pieced his suit, hat and the gift bow. I love paper piecing, I think its all that cutting out...doesn't it look like I spent ages putting this card together but most is one sheet of paper and is a ready made layout from the fantastic My Mind's Eye - All is Bright 6x6 Pad I bought from Bunny Zoe's Crafts, there's a few of these layouts in the pad and they work fantastically for cards as well as scrapbook all I needed to add was the tag (cut from the same pad) and a ribbon...I will have to buy more of these. I'm entering this for the Crafty Catz weekly challenge, Stampin' for the weekend challenge and the Paper Crafting Journey challenge too...I'm having a crafting day today I feel the need to colour and cut to my hearts content, well that's the plan anyway...whatever your up to today watch out for those wood lice they are sneaky things lol

shades...

Good morning everyone...wow can you believe its September already...whoosh the time is just flying by and its only 18 days until we are off on our holidays too, it seems ages ago we booked it but it was only a couple of weeks really, my judgement of time seems to have disappeared totally lol...do you think women see shades of colours differently or is it just we crafters?...I put the first coat of olive green on the bathroom wall and set about painting all the woodwork and boy is there loads of it as there is wood panelling half way up the bathroom walls, its was coloured a deep cream and I wanted it a little lighter and less yellowy so chose a colour called Almond White...so I spent ages patiently painting the grooves and using a roller for the flat parts, Phil came in from work and into the bathroom...first words that green needs another coat and I thought you were doing the paintwork????...now I know there wasn't a vast difference in the colour for the wood but considering I only had it half done I could see where I had started and finished but he really honestly couldn't tell the difference...then he says is there anything for dinner...my answer whatever your buying from the chinese...that will teach not to be able to tell different shades bless him lol...right now onto my card for today, isn't this new Whiff of Joy stamp so so cute and girlie...its called Tea Party, I remember sitting having little tea parties with our Daughter but of course real milk (no tea of course) and teeny cut sandwiches and mini cakes...I coloured this cutie stamp with distress inks and the beautiful papers are from the Kaisercraft - The Lake House 6.5"x6.5" Paper Pad, this really is a stunning pad and the sentiment tag is from the same pad too, I stamped it with a sentiment from my stash...I finished with some beautifully perfect Blossoms - Resin Flower Bluebell flowers...everything I used on my card are from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...the lush sketch is from the Sketch N Stash challenge and Im also entering it for the Paper Crafting Journey Anything Goes challenge and the Fat Pages and Cards with Attitude challenge...I'm doing no diy, decorating or anything like it today instead I'm off to buy some new nail varnish and maybe even something girlie for our holiday, I need a little time away from it I think...whatever your up to today have a fantastic relaxing one

its still Summer...

Good morning everyone, how was your weekend?...well the sofas are bought and it isn't the ones I wanted or the colour I was the keenest on but there's method in my madness, they were my second choice and I still love them but I let Phil have his way and now the next dozen things I want for the house I wont hear a peep out of him about...see method lol...I have a mood board made for the living room but as my post is photo heavy today I will post it tomorrow...of course that's if you want to see it, I don't want to bore you all rigid bleating on about the new house you know...although I'm getting so excited about it now and might have a couple of excited girlie screams you know lol...dinner last night was cooked by our beautiful Daughter and her other half, it was chicken, porcini mushrooms, white wine and cream with carrots and mash...omg it was fantastically tasty and was so welcome with us running around like headless chickens its fantastic not to have to stop to cook a meal...she can defo come again to cook that lol...right now enough waffle onto my card for today which is for our new Challenge over at Bunny Zoe's Crafts

this month is my choice of theme and i chose Summer...so anything summery or summer colours or image...let your imagination go wild...I chose to use this amazing sweetie from the Morehead Acrylic Stamp Set - Blossom isn't she just fabulous look at that adorable face, I coloured her with distress inks and teamed her up with some paper from the stunning Prima 6x6" Paper Pad - Romance Novel (including the paper piecing), the little tag and envelope are from the same pad too...I finished her with a stunning yellow organza ribbon and some flowers which are Mini Tulips - Yellow Lily Rose - Cream and Open Rose-Gold Orange , everything except the ribbon is from Bunny Zoe's Crafts

its rare for me to be completely happy with a card I make but I'm so chuffed with this one, it turned out exactly how I imagined it in my head, do you know what I mean...the sketch I made as I went along but I'm entering this for the Simon Says Stamp challenge, Paper Crafting Journey Challenge and the No Matter Which Challenge too...I'm finishing some packing today, theres no rest for the wicked lol, whatever your up to have a wonderful one, when you have time pop on over to the Bunny Zoe's Crafts Challengeto see what the rest of our lush team came up with

Good morning everyone, I hope your all well...can someone please switch that big tap in the sky off it seems to be stuck on sprinkler setting, it has been raining here for the last 24 hours and everything is very soggy...ok now enough is enough lol...hands up everyone who thought we would find sunglasses for my Dad...nope you were wrong and over coffee came to the conclusion it would be easier for him to get what he wants in Dublin Airport...well that was my excuse not to go to anymore shops anyway lol...I did get his Euro for him though and a few more bits and pieces, he is so looking forward to the wedding in Sicily and I so wish I was going too, but there isn't the space so I will just have to settle for phone photos of the day and sitting here in the soggy rain...do you all feel sorry for me lol...right now onto my card for today, how stunning is this beautiful Mermaid Lola from Make it Crafty, she is amazing to colour too...I used my usual distress inks and teamed her up with these lush papers from the Prima 6x6" Paper Pad - Fairy Belle pad I bought from Bunny Zoe's Crafts, I love this pad, the soft muted colours and patterns go with so many images...I added a beautifully soft grey organza ribbon and bow, pretty little gems, a crown charm and a stick on sentiment from my stash...I cant remember where the sketch is from (my brain is waterlogged lol) but I'm entering it for the Cute Card Thursday, Simon Says Stamp challenge and the Paper Crafting Journey challenge too...I'm all by myself for the next two days as my lovely Phil is away camping so he can do some marshaling at the races, so two days of crafting, crafting and er maybe just a bit of crafting I think...I'm looking forward to trying out some new things I have wanted too for a while...bliss...whatever your up to today have a fabulous one and I hope its a dry one too

all together now...aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh...

Good morning everyone I bet you all did it...that's what I did when I saw this little cutie...isn't this dragon just gorgeous, so so cute look at that face...I had my crafting day yesterday and yes I managed to stay awake too although it was hard to stay in as the sun was shining and it looked lovely outside, well I had to as I'm going down to the farmhouse next week to spend some time with Phil as its our anniversary on Wednesday, phew 36 years would you believe, how amazing is that and it has just flown by too...don't know what we will be up to but maybe just enjoy some time together, it wont be romantic though as my Dad is coming with us for a break too...he will enjoy it I think as he grew up as a country boy and even worked on farms when he was younger, I think he needs the break anyway

right now onto my card for today which is for our new challenge at Just Magnolia & hAnglar & sTanglar challenge, this weeks choice is Anne and she chose the theme of More Than One Fold...this fantastic little dragon is of course a Magnolia from their new Prince and Princesses collection the dragon is called Lilyrose the Dragon, I coloured her with distress inks and used some of the same collection papers for her too, this dragon magnolia paper is the Magnolia Magic Dragon 12" x 12" Paper but with the addition of some pink gingham it works brilliantly for this girl dragon card doesn't it...I finished with some 15mm Berisford Small Check Gingham HUNTERS GREEN from The Pretty Little Ribbon shop and some beautiful Prima flowers these are from the Prima Flowers Perie Bebe - Meadowlark pack, the flowers, paper and stamp are all from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...I didn't use a sketch this time but I'm entering this for the Cute Card Thursday challenge, Dutch Dare challenge and Paper Crafting Journey challenge...I haven't a clue what I'm up to today but I still have a few things to finish for next weeks posts so might just knuckle down and get them done but you never know the sunshine calling might be too great for me...whatever your up to today have a brilliant sunny one

Good morning everyone did you all have a fabulous day yesterday?...we didn't get to Ikea our home phone broke down and we had to spend the time we should have been drooling around Ikea wanting everything in sight checking out the specs of phones and finally deciding on one although I say we I'm the gadget person in our house poor Phil still doesn't know how to use our TV yet bless him, now I just have to spend hours reentering (is that a word it doesn't look right but spell check says its ok) all our phone numbers into a new phone...oh joy of joys lol...we are going out with our Daughter and other half today so cant get to Ikea today either, oh well it gives us an excuse to go next weekend doesn't it and gives me 7 more days to look at the online store and decide again how many thousands I could spend there...my card for today is using this stunning fairy from Crafts and Me, shes called Casting Down Imagination and is by the amazingly talented Sara Burrier, I coloured her with distress inks and of course you know the rule, if she has wings she has glitter

the stunning paper is a double sided one from the Panduro Tilda kitchen Garden paper pad I bought ages and ages ago, don't you just love that soft green and of course the gingham...oooooooohhhhhh I love gingham don't you...I finished with a sentiment, a butterfly charm and a couple of Prima flowers...the fabulous sketch is from My Time Made Easy challenge and I'm also entering it for the Paper crafting Journey challenge and Crafty Catz challenge too...ok now onto the tidy craft room photos

the wardrobe (which I put shelves in as a cupboard), the kitchen table desk, chair (love my chair) and two chests of drawers (perfect size for my printer on top of them) are all Ikea, all massive bargains of course...the small table at the front with my guillotine on is also from there too...don't you just love the cardboard box on the side of my desk, I need more storage

the picture was there when it was my Daughters bedroom, its not my taste but I just haven't got round to replacing it yet

ok now hands up all those people who fancy a rummage through these huge piles of paper (there's another one under my small table too ssssshhhhhh don't tell anyone), the box in the centre is full of my 6x6 paper pads, the sofa is my Daughters sofa bed she used to have her friends stay over on, it is all marked with make up so that explains the throw covering it lol

ok this is about two thirds of my cards all piled up in bags...shocking isn't it...so there's my craft room, not the biggest, most organised or tidiest but its all mine and I love it to bits...its my space and I bet you all know exactly what I mean...I hope whatever you get up to today you have a fantastic time and don't forget to pop back later for my candy
