warning...dont look if your scared of spiders...

See I told you we would catch one, well Phil did and this creepy thing was in our bedroom, right enough this is a smaller one than some we have had, arent they horrible...uuuurrrrrrggggghhhhh they give me the creeps...of course as soon as the camera came out the horrible thing curled up, I will see if I can be brave enough to get another later when it has relaxed enough to unfurl, the legs are massive when they come out...the glass is clear glass and dosent show things bigger honestly (I wish it did lol) and I put a distress ink bottle for size...soz if I have freaked you but at least I warned you lol

OMG Mina, what on earth are you feeding him? He is heeuuuge!! I don't think I could cope with catching one that size to throw outside. I hope we don't get any like that.
Have a fab weekend.

I do feel for you, Mina, having been plagued by these Tegenaria in my own home. I love Lisa's idea of using them on a card but my preference these days is to do away with them as quickly and as humanely as possible. I have found that putting them outside just enables them to meet new friends. Spiders have "homing" abilities like pigeons and they invite their friends over which results in yet more spiders in the house! I did find (so far) that spraying the carpet with walking insect killer seems to have reduced the number of sightings this year. I had 13 of them last year in the space of about 3 weeks and I was a nervous wreck! Hugs, Lesley

That is horrifying, Mina - I would be half a mile down the road in a second if I saw that in my house!!! The only good spider is a dead spider!!

I am very afraid of spiders but couldn't resist looking! Ahh that is just way too much....do they sting? I know that makes it a million times worse.

Scuse my language but bloody hellfire - he is mahoosive!!! I don't actually mind spiders and quite happily live in harmony with them in my house (would rather have spiders than flies any day of the week!) I swear they're getting bigger every year though!!! Hugs, Marie xx

Wait--this is a small one? AND it looks even bigger when it stretches its legs out?!? HOLY MOLY! Oh, Mina! How will you sleep tonight? Oh! How will I sleep tonight?! LOL. :)

Too bad it is not a Vampire. Vampires cannot enter a house unless the owner invites them in. I know you would never do that!

Ok, that's a fair sized spider! Ughhh...I really do feel for you, there has GOT to be some way to get those monsters out of YOUR house, before they all get together and decided to do a hostile take over! Have to say that you and Phil are braver, or crazier, than I am, I'd have just turned him to paste! That sucker must spin a Huge web! Will be looking forward to the updates. At least now Phil's seen 'em too!

Well Mina if thats the wee one, I'd hate to meet Mammy spider!! The males are usually the smaller ones and the massive ones are the females. So yucky looking. Hope you had a good day yesterday, I hear you met Maddy too. Cant believe I missed you. Anyway, hope you spent loads of money and got tonnes of goodies. I was a wee bit disappointed with it this year, there definitely wasnt as much this time around. Lee xx

Eek! I am glad the live at your house and not at mine. I am not terrified of spiders, but if they reach a certain size I am getting a little less relaxed.

Arrhhhhh! He's a big'un - looks all furry too!

My most memorable 'spider moment' was calling down to my teenage kids to bring me a glass "there's a big spider" I shouted - as they came running up the stairs to see how 'big' I meant they realised when I told them "we'll need a bigger glass!!!" I had to 'encourage' him to tuck his legs in to get the PINT glass over him! I also took photo's - next to a light switch, as I knew hubby would never believe how brave I'd been!!!!!
