watch out for yellow snow and ice...

Good morning everyone I hope the storms didn't cause too much damage or stress for whoever was affected...isn't it terrible about the people who lost their lives in the storm...things can be replaced or repaired but people cant, my heartfelt sympathy goes out to those families and loved ones...it was very very wet here but no storm thank goodness so we got off lucky I think...I'm taking the next few days off as we are having family problems here and I need to put all my efforts into my family for a few days but will be back Friday for a post...life just plods along doesn't it then something happens to knock you off your feet...so picking everyone up and dusting them off is called for I think...right now onto my card for today...you know what they say about avoiding yellow snow and ice don't you lol, but I couldn't resist using more summer papers for a Christmas card and yellow was the colour of choice...this beauty is from Sugar Nellie and is called Wish Upon A Star...shes the perfect Christmas fairy image don't you think...I coloured here with my distress inks and yep more and more glittered needed lol...I just cant resist lol...the glitter is Stickles Glitter Glue - Star Dust and the gorgeous papers I used are from the Kaisercraft - Elegance 6.5"x6.5" Paper Pad...lush colours isn't it, the glitter glue and papers are from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...I punched some snowflakes with my massive Martha Stewart punch and finished my card with a yellow gingham ribbon bow...I made the sketch up as I went along but am entering it for the Scrapping 4 Fun Challenge, My Creative Moments challenge and the Christmas Stampin' all Year Long Challenge too...things to do and people to see today so I need to get my war paint on, I don't put the bins out without it these days lol...whatever your up to today stay safe

not just for summer...

Good morning everyone how was your weekend, did you get up to anything exciting?...yesterday was just as wet and dark as the rest of the weekend here...boy isn't it hard taking photos when it gets dark and wet, even with my lamp this is the clearest photo I could get, I might try a bit later to get a better photo or two...depending on how dark it is this afternoon of course...my lovely Dad arrived in England safe and sound, I hope he has a fantastic time while hes there and gets loads of baby hugs...when my sister told me about the baby's birth I could actually smell him lol...must be a Mum thing what do you reckon...right now my card for today, it just goes to show you don't need to just keep those summer papers just for summer doesn't it...I coloured this amazing Mo's Digital Pencil digi with my usual distress inks and glittered and glittered to my hearts content with Stickles Glitter Glue - Star Dust (well all that snow and ice needs some sparkle doesn't it)...this is the gorgeous Igloo and the papers I used for it are from the Teresa Collins 6x6" Paper Pad - Summer Stories, I so love it when I can use papers not meant for Christmas for my Christmas cards don't you...papers should definitely be multi seasonal tasking...I added a sentiment cut from the same pad and finished with a lush bow made with Organza Ribbon - Dusky Pink (25mm Wide) and a button...I had to get one in somewhere didn't I lol...everything except the Mo's Digital Pencil image and button is from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...the fab sketch is from the Sweet Stop Sketches Challenge and I'm also entering it for the Digitally Sweet Challenge and Sister Act Card Challenge too...I'm huddled in today, hatches battened down and fire on, fluffy dressing gown on and hot water bottle filled...boy I hate the cold can you tell lol...whatever your up to today I hope you get out and about and enjoy some sun

oops...now how did I do that...

Good afternoon everyone hows your weekend been, I'm a bit late today as oops I forgot to press the button to schedule my post instead it was in draft form...duh lol...first things first my Neice had a baby boy, he is ssssooooooo gorgeous but will probably be a few months old before I get a hug as they live in England...it has been chucking it down here all weekend, Phil was away at the motorbike racing but it was rained off and he came home earlier than expected but my Dad and I went out yesterday morning to get the baby a little gift and of course I couldn't resist the baby clothes and had to get him a few outfits, now who on earth can resist baby clothes...we were supposed to go into town but the rain was so heavy and running down the streets so we didn't bother, its hard for my Dad as he walks very slow with two crutches by the time we just get from the car to a shop door the poor fella is drenched and with the wind an umbrella wouldn't have worked...but hes off to England today to meet his first grandchild so hes looking forward to that, I so wish I was going too...right now onto my card for today...how stunning is this new Magnolia stamp...shes the beautiful Winter Wonderland - Peaceful Tilda, I stamped her in soft grey this time for a softer look (what do you think?, did it work) but still coloured her with my distress inks I paper pieced her dress and glittered her up using Stickles Glitter Glue - Star Dust...the lush papers are from the Kaisercraft - Miss Empire 6.5"x6.5" Paper Pad, gorgeous muted colours isn't it...I added a sentiment from the paper pad, a lush Organza Ribbon - White (25mm Wide), a scattering of 4mm Flat backed Pearls - Cream and finished with a Prima flower...everything I used on my card today came from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...the fab sketch is an old one from Mojo Monday and I'm entering it for the Ribbon Girls Magnolia Challenge, Tilda's Town Challenge, Craftyhands Challenge and the My Creative Moments Challenge too...what you up to today, we are having a lazy one just watching tv and surfing for me I guess so nothing exciting...whatever your up to have a dry one

oooohhhh I love making Christmas cards...

Good morning everyone hows your week going...good I hope...I didn't have any luck with my baby shopping yesterday, I don't know if its a girl or boy yet so buying something fabulously girlie or cute and boyish is out...so what do I go for, something to help the parents or maybe a gift card so they can shop when they need too...but that seems kinda impersonal if you know what I mean...did any of you get the perfect gift for a new baby and let me know what it was please...I want to get THE perfect gift...help...but my lovely Dad took me for coffee anyway and we had a laugh and a moan, I so enjoy our coffee chats, they are so special and always make me realise how precious my time is with him...he is a lovely man and that's not me being biased, well maybe just a teeny bit lol...right now onto my card for today...how adorably cute is this Wild Rose Studio stamp, this is Bluebell with Robin and it comes complete with a sentiment stamp too so a real bargain...I coloured this cutie with my distress inks and used these lush papers from the Echo Park - Reflections Christmas 6x6 Paper Pad...the papers in this pad are so fab, they aren't just the traditional green and red but have soft blues and chocolate browns too...I added a stamp from the Wild Rose Studio - Christmas Labels stamp set, this set is a real bargain...I finished with some covered tabs from the Wooden Flourishes - Pennants FL441, a bow made from lush Gingham Wired Edge Gold Thread Ribbon - Green and added a button from the bag of Camouflage - 25g buttons, everything I used on my card today is from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...the fab sketch is from Mojo Monday and I'm also entering it for the Addicted to Stamps Challenge and the Crafty Catz weekly Challenge too...I'm going into my craft room for a mooch today, I'm going to sort out all my Christmas stuff, I love making Christmas cards don't you, I never seem to run out of ideas for them and that's always makes them a little bit easier...whatever your up to today I hope you have fun and spend some time with someone special

the real Santa...

Good morning everyone I hope your all well...are you getting the same weather we are?, its sopping wet here and hasn't stopped raining for at least 24 hours...everything is soaked through and It was coming down so hard we had rivers of rain running down our street yesterday evening...yucky weather...its still not cold yet and would you believe one of my roses is flowering again...roses at the end of October?, is that natural do you think...I had a really lazy day yesterday I hardly moved at all, in fact Phil thought I was sleeping when he came in I was so still lol...I feel a bit better for it today though thank goodness so just goes to show a duvet day every now and then does you the power of good...see I know it lol...today I'm off out with my Dad nothing too exciting just going baby clothes shopping, one of my Nieces is due to give birth in the next week and although I don't know what it will be I need to get something now so my Dad can take it with him when he flies over at the weekend, hes so excited for his first Great Grandchild's arrival...perfect excuse for buying something cute and gorgeous isn't it...right now onto my card for today...did you know that Santa shouldn't really be red suited...he was originally green or blue depending on which country you were in and the red Santa we all know and love is an invention of a well know soft drinks company (holidays are coming lol)...so I chose to colour this gorgeous Little Helpers digi from Sugar Nellie in green (well any excuse not to use too much of the dreaded red ink lol)...I used my distress inks for colouring and some stunning papers from the Teresa Collin's Designs Christmas Cottage 6x6 paper pad from my Christmas stash last year I bought from Bunny Zoe's Crafts, that's the good thing about traditionally coloured Christmas papers isn't it, they don't date and you can use them year after year...I added some ribbon's and ruffled bow, a tag sentiment cut from the same pad and of course couldn't resist throwing some buttons in lol...the fab sketch is from the Sketch N Stash Challenge and I'm also entering it for the Sketch Saturday Challenge, Allsorts Challenge and the C.R.A.F.T challenge too...I'm off to get some war paint on and believe me this week I need it before I head out...whatever your up to today I hope its a beautiful dry one for you

Today is your day...

Good morning everyone I hope you had a fantastic weekend and your all well and happy...ours wasn't the best, poor Phil spent most of it at work while I lay around for most of it, not feeling well...so not the best weekend lol...but never mind today is a new week and its onwards and upwards...one thing I did see that made me smile ear to ear though...my Dad needed milk so we headed to the supermarket and decided on a coffee too...in the cafe there was a lot of running about with flowers, champagne and even setting up on part of it as a private party so of course I had to go find out what was going on didn't I, well it would have been rude not too wouldn't it lol...turned out one of the young fellas that work in the supermarket had arranged a surprise for his girlfriend and was going to propose in front of the staff, customers and loads of relatives that poured in over the next couple minuets, so we made a hasty retreat to get what my Dad needed and just caught the proposal and the asking over the loudspeaker too...its ok she said yes...wasn't that sweet...right now onto my card for today, I bet you don't need to guess who this sweetie is by...yes of course he's from Mo's Digital Pencil, this is the adorable Talk to the Bear (Boy)...isn't he just so so cute...I love the look on his face don't you...I coloured him with my usual distress inks and teamed him up with the perfect paper choice for him, these papers are from the Echo Park - All about a Boy 6x6 Paper Pad...I love the colours in this pad don't you?...I added just a single button from the Ice Storm - 25g button pack, the pad and button are from Bunny Zoe's Crafts and I finished with a knotted ribbon to finish...the fab sketch is from the Just Add Ink Challenge and I'm also entering it for the Sister Act Card Challenge and Inkspirational Challenge too...I'm having (another) duvet day today...poor Phil must be so fed up seeing me in my pj's bless him, but I will be back bright and early tomorrow with a card to show you all and hopefully feeling a lot better...whatever your up too today I hope is a fantastic one

dont let anyone ever dull your sparkle...

Good morning everyone, how are you all and whats happening in your life atm?...I hope the weather that the weather forecast is saying is heading for us doesn't appear, they are saying the worst winter for ten years...omg I shudder at the thought of it being worse than -19 that it was a few years back...oh no I hate the cold don't you...I don't mind chilly, autumn weather with a little frost in the air, you know that kinda of lovely fresh crisp day...but minus temperatures make me want to hibernate until spring...I think I'm in desperate need of a week in the sun lol...I had a chillaxing day yesterday caught up with some tv and cooked that is until I realised I had forgotten to make my Sugar Nellie card for today...oops...so it was a quick make, in fact this took me 20 minuets start to finish, if you look closely you can see the glitter glue is still wet lol...this fabulous little cutie fairy is one of those all time classics like last weeks...shes perfect for Christmas cards don't you think...I made mine a taste of summer with all those butterflies...she is of course from Sugar Nellie and is called Make A Wish...I coloured her with my distress inks and teamed her up with a very old paper pad...these lush papers are from the Bo Bunny 6x6 Gabrielle paper pad...they are so pretty aren't they...I added a sentiment rub on and a punched butterfly from the same pad and glittered...I used Stickles Glitter Glue - Star Dust on loads and loads of the butterflies, the fairy wings, bows and star...in fact everything I could think off lol...what do you think, too much glitter?, can you have any such thing lol?, I finished with a scattering of gems from the Mixed Bag Clear Flat Acrylic Round Gems - 3mm, 4mm & 5mm from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...the lush sketch is from the Sketch Saturday Challenge and I'm also entering it for the 2 Sisters Challenge and the Challenges 4 Everybody Challenge too...I'm heading to my craft room today but for a more relaxing make I hope...whatever your up to today I hope its a relaxing one too

rocker...

Good morning everyone I hope your all well and had a fabulous weekend, it was supposed to be cold here yesterday but we decided to head for a boot sale and while we were there it was very warm and sunny which is fantastic unless you took notice of the weathermen and dressed for the cold, five minuets in and I was ready to strip it all off lol...we had a great time mooching but the only thing I saw I loved was a really funky 60's coffee set, you know the type, tall and angular but they wanted too much for it and wouldn't budge on the price so I gad to just walk away, we went and got Phil some Cuban food to sample, which he loved...after that we had our beautiful Daughter and other half round for dinner, two days back and she is loaded with a cold the poor thing...but it meant they didn't have to cook so they enjoyed their dinner...right now onto my card today which is for our new challenge at Bunny Zoe's Crafts monthly Challenge...this month it was my choice of theme and I chose...Ribbon...and every single thing I used on my card is from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...this cute little fella is from Bildmalarna...isn't he just gorgeous...hes called Mimo rocking horse and I coloured him with my distress inks and paper pieced his little outfit (any excuse for more cutting out lol) and added some glitter using Stickles Glitter Glue - Star Dust, I also used another stamp for the banner across the ribbon its the Bildmalarna - Mini Christmas banner cut out and raised up to make it look 3d...well 3d ish anyway lol...the fabulously yummy papers are from the lush Echo Park - Reflections Christmas 6x6 Paper Pad...perfect colours for Christmas aren't they...I added a ruffled bow made with Gingham Wired Edge Gold Thread Ribbon - Green, I finished with three pendants from the Wooden Flourishes - Pennants FL441 set covered in paper from the pad, a few scattered pearls from the Mixed Bag of 3mm Flat backed Pearls and the cutest little charms from the 5 x Snowflake 6 Charms (B024-W) bag...the fab sketch is from the Try Stampin' On Tuesday Challenge and I'm also entering it for the Card Crafter's Circle Challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge too...I haven't a clue what I'm up to today, the weather is supposed to be ok but I don't need to go out so might just fit in some crafting instead of heading out...whatever your up to have a brilliant one

an apple a day...

Good morning everyone I hope your having a brilliant weekend...bbbbbrrrrrr its cold here, but not as cold as some other places in Britain so I'm not gonna complain my lips are sealed, just in case...our Daughter and her other half had a brilliant time in Amsterdam but where shattered when they flew in so we skipped lunch to get them home for a snooze...but they picked up the ball of fluff adorable sumo cat later in the evening...I must admit though I wont miss the hair, it has taken me ages with the aid of a lint roller and a roll of sellotape to get the hairs off my sofa and that despite the fact she lay on an old towel and not on the material...the hairs get everywhere...oh and I wont miss my itchy nose either...we didn't do anything on Saturday, well I say that but I did a few hours playing in my craft room while Phil did a clean up of his shed...so we didn't just sit on our butts all day lol...right now onto my card today...go on have a guess who this cutie and her best friend are by...go on...you don't need much of a clue with that beautiful drawing do you...its from Mo's Digital Pencil of course and is called Elke and Bear...I coloured this stunner with my usual distress inks and had brilliant fun cutting it out...the lush papers I used are some of the few I have left from the Kaisercraft - Remember Me 6.5"x6.5" Paper pad...this is a beautiful paper pad and like all the Kaisercraft paper pads there are four sheets of sentiments and embellishments at the back of it which is where the sentiments came from, the pads from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...I finished my card with what else but a few buttons (well I couldn't resist any longer)...the fab sketch is from the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge and I'm also entering it for the Crafty Bloggers Network Challenge and the Charisma Cardz challenge too...I think we are heading into town today for a little pre Christmas shopping mooch and coffee, so wish me luck with my many lists for Christmas, I will need it...whatever your up to today have a lovely warm wrapped up one

Introducing....Sumo Cat....

Good morning everyone...here's my Daughters gorgeous 13 year old fluffy beast, nicknamed....sumo cat by us (sssshhhhhhh dont tell her lol)...isn't she massive if Phil picks her up she fills his arms and he says she is so so heavy, shes 65cms long and a lush bundle of fluff...first thing in the morning she lies on the floor for a belly scratch and fills about three of the floor tiles...she seriously could do with a diet but a lot of her is about 5 cms of hair and her hair (and fat, theres no muscle involved lol) touches the ground when she runs bless her...shes so affectionate though which isnt good for the itchy nose or black trousers...its a bugger to get hair off black isn't it...sorry no card today as I was ssssssoooooo busy yesterday and today we are off to the airport to pick them up then take them for lunch on the way back...then we have to give sumo cat back aaaaaawwwwwwww...I will be back on Sunday with a card to show you giving me a chance to create tomorrow...whatever your up to today have a brilliant one and watch out for sumo cat hairs lol

christmas outfit sorted...

Good morning everyone...I need a little bit of advice, my Daughters cat isn't eating very well, she has hardly eaten half a bowl full of food since she arrived...any ideas how to tempt her...I have tried her favourite things like ham but she isn't having any of it...I reckon she is missing her owners even after all the fussing she is getting from us...should I be worried or will she eat when shes good and ready?...I didn't do any crafting at all yesterday, I had a little play of some things like cutting out stuff but didn't really get down to any card making etc...in fact I even cooked instead of crafting...I know shock horror eh, imagine cooking instead of crafting lol...I'm sure that urge will pass real soon though...right now onto my card for today...I love this fabulous little fella and he just goes to show you don't need to colour him black, let your imagination go wild or do what I did and colour some bits paper piece him a lush Christmas outfit...this is the fabulous new Edwin With Derby hat from the Little London collection ...hes great isn't he and look so dapper in his festive suit and hat...I coloured him with distress inks and the papers I used for the piecing and card are from the stunning new Echo Park - Reflections Christmas 6x6 Paper Pad...I cut some of the checked paper into holly leaves and used a sprinkling of red buttons (some from the Big Red - 25g bag) to finish...everything but a few of the buttons are from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...the fab sketch is from The Sweet Stop Challenge the Marvelous Magnolia Challenge and the Dream Valley Challenge too...I'm off out today I'm a little fed up babysitting (or should that be cat sitting) and need some fresh air I think, I'm sure the cat will be fine for a while without me fussing over her (although Phil is just as bad as me lol)...so I'm heading to Town with my lovely Dad for a little bit of retail therapy and get some things I have put off until I made a trip into town if you know what I mean...whatever your up to today have a brilliant one and any advice about the cat would be greatly appreciated

spots before the eyes...

Good morning everyone ok everybody prepare to faint, theres not a button in sight today lol...there is a lot of dots though and a huge amount of glitter glue...I'm sitting here covered in cats hairs, they are getting everywhere and I don't know if its just because I'm not used to them but they are making me itchy as hell and I'm forever itching my nose...the cat has a very strange habit...she loves sitting on the deck watching the birds, shes no danger to them shes too big to jump or run fast enough to get them, but she loves watching them but while shes doing in her jaw judders really fast...its like she has a spasm in her jaw and there's no sound either...so strange and so hilarious to watch...even the birds were looking at her as if something was wrong with her...its so funny lol, I heard from our Daughter and her other half yesterday afternoon to say they had landed and everything was great and the weather was very warm, the lucky things and good girl for stopping her Mum worrying, even though shes almost 29 it doesn't stop me fretting. well its in a Mum's job description isn't it...right now onto my card for today which is using a favourite stamp of mine...this is of course a Sugar Nellie stamp from Diane Duda, shes called Believe, I think one of the reason I like this stamp is that she can be used for any occasion at all...this time I used her for a monochrome card with lots of glitter...I coloured her very softly with my distress inks and teamed her up with these lush papers from the Glitz 6x6" Paper Pack - Colour Me Happy pad, I struggle wondering what to do with wood papers don't you and they are perfect for this monochrome look don't you think...I added a chocolate brown ribbon and bow and a couple of wooden hearts covered with Stickles Glitter Glue - Star Dust, the pad and stickles are from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...the lush sketch is from the Sketch Saturday Challenge and I'm also entering it for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge and the Ribbon Girl Make it Sparkly Challenge too...I think I'm going to have a bit of a crafting day today and if I can drag the cat away from juddering at the birds she can keep me company in my craft room...hair and all...whatever your up to today I hope its fluff free and whatever your up to you have a giggle and a good time too

its amazing what air can do...

Good morning everyone, yes I can finally post...guess what it was wrong with my precious laptop...it was overheating, the fan wasn't working enough and every time it overheated it cut out...so off I went to the shop and bought a can of spray air cleaner...I wasn't brave enough to take my laptop to pieces mind lol...so I did a bit of research and pointed the air can in the right direction and after the cloud of black bits had cleared I did it again and bobs your Uncle its working brilliantly...I think it would be much better if the back was removed and it was done properly but I had visions of all these bits left over when I put it back together so didn't dare lol...well how have you all been, did you have a good weekend?...our was quiet except for getting our Daughters washing dried in time for her and her lovely other half to get on their flight to Amsterdam this morning...they are off to spend five days in a city centre apartment and I hope they have the best time ever...besides from the drying panic our weekend was very very quiet...we hardly even went out actually, it was one of those weekends when you cant think of anywhere to go...right now for my card for today...now look at that perfect little face, who else could draw this but Mo from Mo's Digital Pencil...I think you can spot Mo's images anywhere don't you...this is the beautiful First Fish (Girl), there's a boy version of this cutie too...I used distress inks for colouring and teamed her up with these beautifully coloured papers from the Echo Park This & That Charming 6x6 paper pad, I bought this ages ago from Bunny Zoe's Crafts but I think its out of stock atm...I finished with some wooden letters for the girl word, gorgeous cute spotty ribbon and of course a few buttons, I think you would probably all faint if I made a card without buttons wouldn't you lol...the lush sketch is from the Card Crafter's Circle Challenge and I'm also entering it for the Crafty Catz challenge and the Creative Fingers Challenge too...I'm spending the day with our Daughters cat, I must see if I can get a photo of her, I call her sumo cat, she is huge and so fluffy I usually spend a week after they come back from holidays getting rid of cats hairs...maybe I should buy some Immac lol (just kidding)...whatever your up to today don't forget a bit of jet propelled air does you the world of good lol. have a good one

my favourite thing...

Good morning everyone I hope your all well and having a brilliant week...yes I remembered my card for today so no excuses needed thank goodness....oh no aaaarrrrrgggghhhhhh those big huge hairy spiders are back...I walked into my bedroom last night to get my pj's on and there it was in all its massive leggy horror staring at me...not one of us moved, I was scared to stop looking at it in case it ran and I lost sight of it and it was frozen by the light...I managed to shout of Phil and his trusty kitchen roll of death and he walked in saying 'bloody hell, that's a big un', which didn't fill me with any faith that my mind might have been exaggerating...he got rid of it but I spent the rest of the evening thinking I had seen something moving out of the corner of my eye...I know its not even a teeny bit rational but omg they really are huge you know, I will try and get Phil to catch the next one and show you but even hes a bit wary of them...right now onto my card for today oh and an answer to a question for an article on the Sugar Nellie blog I have been asked...first my card how perfectly christmassy is this fabulous Penguin Party from Sugar Nellie...so so cute isn't it...I coloured this with my usual distress inks and teamed it up with a non Christmas paper pad...these papers and the sentiment tag are from the Teresa Collins 6x6" Paper Pad - Stationary Noted pad which is on sale at Bunny Zoe's Crafts atm too

I finished with some beautiful organza ribbon I bought locally and holly leaves and buttons...the little clip I found in an office supply shop...aren't they so so cute
now for an answer to a question what is my favourite piece of crafting equipment and why...my all time favourite is my teeny tiny curved Pergamano scissors, I love them and use them for everything, I don't have a die cutter so everything you see cut on my cards are cut using these...even the holly leaves I used on this card were cut out with them...I couldn't craft without them...I keep them razor sharp with a very fine emery board, this takes any gooey stuff off them from tape etc and makes sure they never snag even the finest of materials...I cut very quickly by keeping my cutting arm still and moving whatever I'm cutting it takes a little while to get used too but really works, you can practise this by propping your arm onto a chair arm so it wont move...have a go I bet you will be surprised how fast you can cut

the sketch I used for my card I made up as I went along but am entering it for the Sister Act Card Challenge, Crazy 4 Challenges challenge and the Sweet Stampin' challenge too...I'm off out with my lovely Dad today not for anything exciting though, just a few bills to pay...oh if we didn't have bills how much craft goodies could we buy...whatever your up to today have a brilliant one and I hope my advice is helpful, let me know if it is I would love to hear about it
