who could resist that face...

Good morning everyone...winter has arrived here and I think hibernation may be the order of the day...I even have my fluffy bed socks out of mothballs....bbbbbrrrrrrr...I had to go to Asda for printer ink yesterday and its filled with goodies for Christmas, is it just me or does it get earlier every year, what next Easter Eggs in December do you reckon lol...you know what this chilly weather means don't you....their bbbaaaacccckkkk...the spiders I mean I had three, yes three of the massive big things last night and the neighbours will be sending for the men in the white coats I think with me running around with a slipper like a loony again, I tell you whats worse than that is they are so massive I cant bring myself to move them and when I got up this morning one had disappeared so either its lurking somewhere waiting to go for my jugular or something bigger came and ate it...uuuuugggghhhhhh, I haven't a clue where they are coming from I'm sure someone is letting them loose in my house every night despite searching the house from top to bottom I cant find one web, I have tried the peppermint oil thing and all the sprays etc I can think off...the only thing I can think of now is a spider eating snake lol, Im determined to risk life and limb and trap one to show you how big they are so I have three clear vases in strategic places waiting to be grabbed to pop over the top so watch this space...right enough blethering onto my card for today which is for our new challenge at Colour Create challenge and this time the choice is mine...I chose Lilac, Grey and White and the extra option is snowflakes, you have to try this colour combo it works so well for a frosty card...I used the stunning Santa's Hat Girl from Mo's digital Pencil coloured with distress inks and paper pieced, now who could resist that little face...adorable...I punched the snowflakes shapes out of the lilac gingham and overlaid it onto this super sparkly paper which is in fact wrapping paper from my gift from my Daughter, I loved the paper so much I kept it, the photos don't do it justice as its super sparkly, I will see if I can get a better photo if the sun ever comes out again...I finished my card with a squiggly ribbon bow and one of the punched snowflakes from the paper...I'm entering this for The Ribbon Girls Christmas challenge, Fab N Funky die cut or punches challenge and the Cutie Pie Bingo challenge (I chose Lilac, Glitter and ribbon)...right I'm of to the supermarket with my lovely Dad today, if he doesn't go for a few days he gets withdrawal symptoms, either that or he has shares in Sainsburys he hasnt told me about lol...when you have time pop on over to Colour Create and see what our amazing team came up with for my colour choice, I cant wait to see what you come up with...have a brilliant day and keep warm

Ohhh your right about that face lol! Such a sweet card. Don't talk to me about spiders,I really don't mind the usually but I took objection to the one that decided to
make a funnel type web into the pocket of my craft tote! Cheeky fellow looked rather settled, not for long though lol! X

I'd offer to send Vince over hun, but he only eats the cobwebs and leaves the spiders! Gorgeously cute card sweetie, and such fabulous paper piecing - you have soooo much patience. Hugs Sxx

Love the way you did the snowflakes. You can't tell if the snowflakes are punched and added on top of the gingham or punched out of the gingham allowing the sparkly paper to show through. Very interesting. You are 100% right about that sweet face too.

Lot's has happened in your world since I have been gone. Glad you and Phil are feeling better. Wonder if it was the creepy crawlers that shot his blood pressure through the roof? Sounds like they may have done the same for you!

PS: Sleep with the light on. You want to see what is tickling your nose.

Hugs, Linda

Beautiful card Mina... love that gingham!
And I'm smiling here at your spider antics.... maybe a cat would be able to sort the problem? Or do you think it would cower in the corner too? hehe

Gorgeous face, beautiful expression...she is adorable Mina....trying not to think of spiders at the moment...spring rain brings spiders in my house...long front legs and long body...YUK!!
My Dad says " they're alright, they are only rain spiders"..You can call them what you want, they are still ugly creepy spiders.

Me too, can't stand spiders, if they are in the house, I'm afraid they only leave in a body bag LOL. Just adore this cutie in her huge hat, love the lush ribbon and the sparkly paper on the lilac gingham, Fabulous card,

I'll send over Nimbus to you Mina, she goes around the outside of the house searching for spiders and munches away at them! So gross!! Not that we have that many now because the peppermint oil works for us. You need to keep applying it ever 3 days and within a short period of time you will see a difference. Ok you'll always get the odd hard man spider who will defeat the oil but generally we really find it works wonders. Youre a braver woman that I, because there is no way I'd get a nights sleep knowing there were massive spiders lurking. Anyway, your card is really cute, such a wee face. I just want to grab her wee cheeks, heehee. And look, she has her hair the same way as I wear mine sometimes! Yes Im 31 but I can still get away with them....so I think anyway, lol. Have a great day Mina.....and yes its so freezing here at the minute. It said the mountains in Scotland might get a touch of snow tonight so it'll be no time before the Mourns are getting a touch too. Looks like we're in for another cold one. Lee xx

A really beautiful card. Love the colours. We have huge spiders here as well. We collect conkers and place them around the room. It does seem to keep the spiders at bay. In fact some shops sell spider spray with conker essence.

Too bad you don't live close or I could loan you my cat. He hates spiders & comes to get me the minute he finds one so I can kill it.

Mina, this is so sweet. Love the image, and the subtle sparkling paper you used. It still feels like fall here in Missouri, USA. The spiders are comming out here too so we have to spray everywhere, they are too stubborn for home remedys, which I would rather use. Hugs

What an adorable card!! Love the snowflake on the ribbon and all the sparkly ones. My what big blue eyes she has. Good luck with your spiders...I'm afraid that when I find 'em in the house they leave as paste! Outside that's fine, live and let live...in my house NOPE! I've never found anything that discourages them.

A beautiful make. Love your lilac paper in the background with the snowflakes and paper pieced on her sleep suit.
I am on spider alert myself at this time of year but I have been spraying the crawling bug killer under the stairs (I'm sure that's where mine all come from) and so far (touch wood) I've had fewer appearances by slower-moving monsters. Phew! Hugs, Lesley
