welcome to the insect graveyard...

Good morning everyone...bbbbrrrrr I hope your keeping warmer than we are in Northern Ireland, it was really cold and wet last night...you should see my kitchen its like an insect graveyard there's slippers and shoes scattered all over the place too, I found five yes five of those big hairy massive spiders we are getting this year in my kitchen last night while I was trying to have dinner...I gave up in the end and left them to it...I'm sure my neighbours think I'm a nutter running around with slippers and shoes in my hand lol...I will clean them up I just have to pluck up the courage first...I think my vaccum is needed for this quantity don't you...my card for today is for our new challenge over at Colour Create challenge and this time its our lovely Sharon's choice of colours and she chose the yummy combo of Lime, Aqua and White with an extra option of using butterflies, this really is a lush combo you will love using...the fantastic image is of course from Mo's Digital Pencil and she is the beautiful Teen Fairy Mia, look at that face isn't she stunning, I coloured her with distress inks and yes that's more glitter on her dress and wings lol...the fabulous papers are from the Basicgrey Marjolaine collection and is called Tiramisu...perfect for this challenge aren't they...I used some fantastic Light Blue Faux Silk Wrinkle ribbon from the Pretty Little Ribbon Shop, wow I love this ribbon...I finished with a few punched teeny butterflies and a sentiment circle, the sketch is from The Cutie Pie Challenge and Im also entering it for the Crafty Creations challenge and Get Hippity with Ippity challenge too...I finished my project I was working on and I ssssssooooo enjoyed making it but you will have to wait until Saturday then all will be revealed, well the project will anyway lol...whatever your up to today watch out for the creepy crawlies and stay warm and if you have time pop on over to Colour Create to see the rest of the teams amazing work and maybe join in with our DT call

Absolutely stunning Mina. I love the colours and the image is beautiful. A wee note on the 8 legged devils. I am petrified of spiders. When we moved into our wee bungalow 2 years ago and after me swearing I wouldnt sleep in the house until every one of the hundreds of little (massive!!) monster were dead my hubby did some research and low and behold this actually works....honestly it really does. Get peppermint oil from your local chemist or health shop. Fill a small spray bottle with water and add 20-30 drops of the oil into the bottle. Go around the inside and outside doors and window frames of you house and along the corners of your rooms and in places you tend to find them most. And I swear to you now, hand on heart it really works......spiders HATE peppermint oil. Its their breeding season at the minute, the males are massive and aggressive. Repeat every 3 days. Honestly we saw a 95% fall from the first year and believe me that first year here.....we had practically mini tarantula's roaming the house. Try it out and see what you think. The first couple of days was the worst because all the wee blighters were running out of their hidie holes and escaping the oil, but onces they were gone and we kept up the spraying particularly from July to November, we saw an amazing difference. One of the wee travel spray bottles from the chemist is ideal. And a bottle of peppermint oil will last you years. Its strange to come across tips of this nature that actually work but my house is a spider free testament to peppermint oil and water spray, heehee. Lee xx

This totally rocks! i lvoe the soft muted tones you used on your image, totally sublime!
As for the Archnids, AAARGGGGG!!!! i think i would have moved out, i am scared shirtless of spiders, i dont even think i could hit them with the sllipper, i agree the vacuum is the way to go to get rid of them, just remeber no recycling that vacuum bag as you will have to see them again, lol, good luck

Your card is just stunning, I love the softness of it.

Planting some peppermint plants around the house also helps with keeping spinders at bay. I get a pot by each door. Hate those creepy crawly things. They are best left in the garden where they can control the slugs..

I think your card is amazing, but whats more amazing is you killing the spiders with slipper. I can't get that close, they petrify me, they really do. I have to use the hose bit on the end of the handle of my dyson to get those nasty big hairy horrible spiders!!
Thanks for joining us on our first challenge at Cutie Pie Challenges and good luck,

Your card is stunning Mina - the colours are gooooorgeous, the fairy is beautiful and that ribbon is lush!
I don't like spiders running towards me, but I just lift my feet and leave them to it - I really can't stand a spider in the bedroom though so I have to catch those with a glass and piece of card, and take them outside and tell them to go away and not come back LOL!
Love, Andrea xx

Two beauties! Loved Analinda with her wistful expression and perfect sentiment and the colour scheme on this uber cute fairy is right up my street. Super over-sized bow too! Hugs, Lesley

I meant to say that if you keep your hoover out, you can just suck those nasties straight up the tube without the need for carrying a slipper or a shoe. A hoover tube adds lots to the length of your own arm so you don't have to get so close too. You will of course need to stuff an entire roll of paper towel down the tube afterwards to prevent the blighters from crawling out. Hope you don't have an upright model - it won't work so well! Hugs, Lesley

Five??? Five of the hair monsters while you're trying to eat dinner??!! That might have been a bit much, I think I'd have left them to it too! I'm going to try the peppermint oil trick Crafty Loops wrote about...maybe I can finally convince the devils that it's MY house not theirs! Your card is a real stunner, image, coloring, papers, ribbon, love it all! Glad that you're feeling enough better to battle the arachnids!
Hugs,
