a glittery bike ride...

Good morning everyone, I hope you all had a fantastic weekend...I was very naughty and spent loads of money on goodies from the wonderful shopping world of the internet last week and they all arrived late last week so I have had fantastic fun playing with them all weekend so much to use and not enough time...but I have my internet head on this week as I do some serious blog hopping to catch up with all your lush work, I missed my hopping this weekend...we spent yesterday afternoon going around the shops looking at all the glittery gorgeous Christmas decorations and decided we are going to have a new tree and decs to go on it, but we are going to go very traditional and green and red with apples and gingham and oooooohhhhhh so much yumminess, and yes it was Phil's idea and no I didn't have to drag him round in fact he dragged me into a couple of shops to look...can you guess we love Christmas lol...anyway onto my card for today which is using this beautiful little sweetie Whimsy Wee Rose's bike ride, I love this perfect stamp and its such a clear crisp one too, perfect to colour...I used distress inks and glittered all those stunning roses...the paper is another 12x12 paper from the new Magnolia Sweet Christmas collection this one is called Vintage Swirl and it just goes to show they aren't just for Christmas, this is a beautiful soft colour too...Nikki has a 10% of everything special offer on at Bunny Zoe's Crafts until midnight tonight so you could pick them up at a bargain price, I finished with a pale green ribbon and bow and some swirls of pearls with teeny tiny roses on from Prima...the fab sketch is from Inkspirations challenge and I'm entering this for the Dutch Dare challenge and Simon says stamp challenge too...we are off out today as Phil is rarely off work so we want to make the best of it...whatever your up to today have a brilliant one

a steampunk babe, finished jacket and a top hat...

Good morning everyone, I hope you all have something wonderful planned for the weekend or are you going trick or treating lol...phew I finished my Daughters costume in the nick of time...a little hint for the future if your eyes aren't 100% never elect to use invisible thread on something because it really is invisible unless its on the reel...it just vanished before my eyes, it took me five goes with a needle threader to thread a needle then I had to keep checking to see if it was still there...it reminded me of a magic trick I used to show my Daughter when she was small lol...I took a couple of photos of the jacket and cute top hat but because it was dark I'm sorry but they aren't very good but I think you can just about see them...anyway my card for today, how sassy is this gorgeous Kenny K image shes called Scarlett West, I love KK images don't you they always make me smile...I coloured her with distress inks (sorry I keep forgetting to add a list of colours but will when I remember I promise) and teamed her up with this amazing Graphic45 paper, its from The Steampunk Debutante collection and is called Mechanical Mind...its a perfect match for this babe isn't it...I added just a teeny bit of dusky pink ribbon and some circles cut from the paper...the lush layout is from Cute Card Thursday challenge and I'm also entering it for the Charisma Cardz challenge and I'm not sure it fits the Kenny K's Krafty Girlz challenge which is dots, but I think the paper is sorta dotty with all those circles

here's the top hat I made...it was much easier than I thought it would be and its made from black card and I put a gold ribbon around it to match the jacket

the jacket turned out really well don't you think...it was a blue cropped jacket, amazing what a bit of dye and adding some tails and a few added bits and pieces will do isn't it...well she is delighted with it and that's what counts isn't it...she left all smiles and really looking forward to the party and she has promised she will have some photos taken on her in the whole outfit so I can show you all...I'm not sure though it depends how many Halloween cocktails she has I think lol...well I'm off the opticians today to help pick my lovely Phil's new glasses, whatever your up to have a brilliant Saturday

snowflakes...

Good morning everyone, its was gorgeously sunny and crisp here yesterday, well for most of the day anyway then of course the rain started again...we just needed a heatwave to complete the set...well I hunted town for a top hat, I could have got any hat you could think of including a bowler hat but a top hat...nope...so I took a executive decision and decided to make one and it turned out fantastically, I made a small one attached to a headband with a gold ribbon attached as my Daughters Halloween outfit will be gold and black, she was so delighted with it when I showed her last night she took it with her to show her friends at work so I didn't even get time to photograph it but will hopefully tonight...the jacket is half done, the tails are made but need attached and I bought gold braid and brass buttons to jazz it up, she has her black hotpants and high heels and will look fantastic, just a shame I wont get to see her as the party is in Belfast...I am so enjoying making her outfit it reminded me of when she was living at home and I did it every year...anyway enough waffling Mina onto today's card which is for our new challenge at Just Magnolia & hAnglar & sTanglar challenge and this week our challenge is Christmas and we are sponsored by The Cutting Cafe who kindly sent the team a set of Santa Hat shapes and loads of Christmas sentiments and verses...I used this fantastic Tilda from the new Magnolia Sweet Christmas collection called Holding Tilda, shes fantastic for holding sentiments or behind ribbon or paper isn't she, I coloured her with distress inks and teamed her up with this lush Sweet Christmas 12x12 paper called Holly Christmas Song, you can buy this either separate or for extra value in a pack...I distressed the paper which is really easy with Magnolia papers as they are such fabulous quality...now look at all that fab holly how could I resist cutting some out and using it as decoration with a few red pearls from the 3mm mixed pearl bag...the stamp, paper and pearls are from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...I finished with a tag punched from the paper and a ribbon and bow...the fab sketch is from Mojo Monday and I'm also entering it for the Simon Says Stamp challenge and The Ribbon Girl challenge too...I'm finishing off my Daughters outfit today and then out to dinner with my gorgeous Phil tonight...have a brilliant day everyone and when you have the time pop on over to Just Magnolia to check out what gorgeous creations the rest of the fabulous team came up with this week

Good morning everyone...its rant day I'm afraid...whats going on with Crafty Blogs? over the last few days I have watched my blog go up and down like a lift...first I was 34, then 29, 31, 38 back up to 30 and last night 45?...whats up with that, I know it will fluctuate but that much in a few days seems crackers...I think someone doesn't like me lol...I will keep an eye on it and if it carries on like that I think the only thing to do is delete it before it makes me cross eyed, because the cross eyed look isn't good on someone my age and my eyesight is bad enough already lol...right its safe to come out rant over...my lovely Daughter has decided that two days before a Halloween party her Halloween costume needs a revamp so I have to put tails on a jacket and make a top hat as shes decided to be a ringmaster...ok no problem lol...I haven't a clue where to start...right onto my card for today which is using this fabulously cute Stroppy Beth a Ragamuffin from Saturated Canary, I love that look on her face don't you, its a real strop face that any teenager would be proud of...I coloured her with distress inks and yes I had to use the dreaded red, that stuff gets everywhere doesn't it...the lush lush papers are digi papers from Nitwit Collections and are from the GingerFellas Too collection...they printed really well didn't they and are a gorgeous mix of colours for Christmas...ok now everyone make sure they are sitting down as this is not for a challenge today, I made it just because I wanted to colour her in...right I'm off to buy fabric and card today to hopefully manage to make something that looks semi ok for her...whatever your up to today have a brilliant one and keep your fingers crossed that my Daughters outfit doesn't fall to pieces before she gets to her party lol

Good morning everyone, welcome to our part of the blog hop and fundraiser for Katie, if you aren't aware of who Katie is, she is just like us all, a Wife, a Mother of 3, and a Crafter, except what makes Katie different from the rest of us is she was suddenly diagnosed with an inoperable cancer, virtually overnight. A few tummy aches and then stage 4 gastric cancer. Her first post about it is here. The idea of the “Swimming for Katie”Blog Hop and Fundraiser came from her recent post here, Katie's story started just before Christmas last year and she is now in Hospital again and is very ill, her wonderful family are with her constantly. You can read all about the hop and her story here
I'm sure you have all heard of the Swimming for Katie campaign but we are just a little reminder just in case you haven't...I'm the first link on this blog hop chain so it all starts here

I used the Keep Swimming Octopus digi for my card, printed out four in different sizes and cut them out, these gorgeous papers are from Magnolia would you believe...I love the spots as they look like bubbles...I used the Keep Swimming flag from the same digi attached to a pin and stuck it into my lush striped ribbon bow

this is not the only digi available to buy for the fundraiser, there are more, each drawn by a different designer and there are stamps for your rubber lovers...hop on over and check them out here there is bound to be something you love...or if you would just like to donate there is a donate button too
This is such a worthy cause, we have all been touched in some way by this horrible disease and this is a way to help in some way, so please is you can please help...but if you cant could you help spread the word that would be fantastic too

Faded digis tutorial...

Hi everyone me again, see I didn't forget and as promised here the tutorial of how I faded my digis as used here, the only way your printer has of printing faded is to miss out parts, so your image will appear in line or pixels...there are a few other ways to do this, you can either just make the image brighter which fades it out but I found this also faded some of the finer lines of the image and lost some of the detail or you can print it on draft, I found this way looked really fuzzy, but both of these might work on your printer so give them a try, this is the way I did it though...I use MS Office Word for my printing but I would imagine all programmes have similar ways of doing the same things...right first add your image and click on text wrapping and behind text to make your image go behind what you add next, you can resize at this stage

then I went into Insert and Shapes and clicked on the square you of course can use any shape you need it doesn't have to be a square...click the page and add your square, resize it to what you need

then do the same as you did above format, text wrapping and this time make it in front of text so it is above your image covering it totally

click format again and choose white as your shape fill, then click more fill colours

this brings up the colours box, at the bottom is the gauge for transparency, I chose 50% but you can make it darker or lighter of course

when you have finished choosing that you can choose if you want a shape outline to edge your box or shape or leave clear...then its just print as normal...hope this was easy to understand but if you need anymore info please just ask
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday everyone

p.s. feel free to link to this post but remember dont lift or copy any of the images or info as it is copyrighted...thanks

lazy days and more fairies...

Good morning everyone, did you all have a fabulous day yesterday?...we didn't do anything at all, just lazed around and chilled really, but the weather was horrible here yesterday, drizzling, cold and windy...I hate days like that don't you, so the old heating went on and I made lunch and then we did nowt at all...my card for today is using this amazing new Sara Burrier digi stamp from Crafts and Me, isn't she stunning, Sara Burrier does the best fairies don't you think, they always remind me of the Flower fairies...I still have a set of them somewhere I think I stashed them sonewhere... I used to read them with my Daughter when she was growing up, we spent many many hours reading together, I think that's why she could read before she started school...or maybe shes a child genius and we didn't know it lol...I coloured this Lady of the Field with distress inks and teamed her up with more of the stunning Michele R Designs papers digi papers, this one is called Vintage Flowers with Lace, I printed three and cut them to add some dimension to the corners...I finished with a sprinkling of gorgeous green gems...ooohhhhh I have realised I didn't make this for any challenges at all, ok ok don't all faint at once lol...I haven't a clue what we are up to today but if the weather is as bad as yesterday, we will have to be wrapped up to do it...have a brill one everyone

Good morning everyone, I hope your all well and happy, we had a great day out yesterday, I bought ribbons, papers, loads of finger lift tape (ssssoooo cheap) and lots of goodies but just little goodies, I will take a photo for you to see them all when I have a bit of time...oooohhhh and my gorgeous Phil bought me two 12x12 paper storage boxes with files from the Really Useful Box Company to store some of my papers (oh no does this mean I have to sort out my papers now)...notice I said some lol...then we went for lunch and he bought me a new coat from Marks & Spencer's...so I did very well didn't I

my card for today isn't a card, its a book using one of my favourite Christmas carols and two of my very favourite new images from Mo's Digital Pencil...I knew when I saw Urchin with Bird and Ragged Angel I would make something different than a card with them, do you liked the faded look of them, I printed them like this, if you would like to know how to let me know and I will do a separate post on it tomorrow evening as I think this one is long enough lol

LinkI coloured them with distress inks and glittered the wings (there's a list of colours at the end of this post)...aren't the papers I used so beautiful, distressed and faded...these are amazing digi papers from Michele R Designs, I bought every single one of Michele's papers as they have such a beautiful faded vintage feel to the...stunning, these two are Winter Blues 1 and 6...I added some glitter and the words to the papers and printed them on linen card then mounted them on pearlised card

I had an awful job punching the holes for the ribbon as I only have a rubbish hole punch, it took so much work I gave myself two blisters...I finished with some beautiful glittery mesh ribbon that I used to tie my book together

I'm entering this for the Truly Scrumptious challenge and Stamptacular Sunday challenge, I'm sure there was a anything but a card challenge I was going to enter too but cant remember it...and even worse cant remember where my list is...thanks for sticking with me for this long post but believe me it could have been longer as I had more photos so think yourselves lucky lol...I'm off out with my Dad and Phil today, dont know where yet but I'm sure we will manage a trip somewhere..whatever your up to today have a fantastic one
