Good morning everyone did you all have a great weekend? I hope you did and where you are the sun shone a bit, it shone here but rained on and off and we even had a few hailstones on Sunday morning (which made Phil swear at the sky as he had just got the lawnmower out to cut our grass for the first time this year), so maybe Spring hasn't sprung just yet...am I wrong or do the clocks change next weekend?...omg how fast is this year flying by...blink and another month nearly gone...I had a lovely day yesterday we went to pick up my Dad before we went to Town and I went in with a bit of anxiety in case his eye looked bad and boy was I right, I expected a little bit of blood in his eye but was shocked at how bloody it was, its bright red with a white ring around his pupil and a beautifully clear blue eye which has his sparkle back in it, he is totally amazed at how much he can see now and gushed about seeing things, including his own wrinkles (goodness knows what he thought of mine lol), I knew I shouldn't have gone up though as I now have a job of cleaning his carpets because he never noticed they were dirty before lol...we went for a mooch in Town had a late dinner and then my Daughter and her other half arrived with pressies and hugs and kisses...so an all in all good one...I hope yours was just as great...my card for today is using this fabulous Alice Mae image from Some Odd Girl, she is stunning to colour and I love colouring stripes don't you, I think these spring colours are perfect for her but might have been a little light handed on her pink dress as you can hardly see it lol...these amazing papers are from the My Minds Eye Miss Caroline - Howdy Doody 6x6 Pad I bought from Bunny Zoe's Crafts, lush papers and perfect spring/summer colours...I finished with some fabulous Sheer Elegance 15mm LIGHT PINK from The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop and a couple of roses cut from the papers...the lush sketch is from The Sweet Stop challenge and I'm also entering it for the Ribbon Reel challenge and Paper Sundaes challenge ...we are of to pick up the food processor Phil wanted today and hes already talking about recipes for using it so watch this space...whatever your up to today have a brilliant one and I hope the sun shines for you

a vision in blue...

Good morning everyone, ok which one of you brought the winter back with a vengeance, it is freezing here, I'm sitting here with a hoodie on and yes the hood is up (now there's a sight) mind it is lilac and really soft knit, the heating on full blast and I'm still cold, I'm one of those people that when they get cold its really hard to heat up and vise verse...I'm always the opposite of everyone else, my poor lovely Phil is either sweating or freezing because of it lol...I had a fantastic Mother/Daughter day yesterday, we shopped, browsed and had lunch then did a bit more window shopping, of course I had to do my Mum thing and bought her a dress, top and trousers in the sales, all for an amazing £22 would you believe...ooooooohhhhhhhh I am such a sucker for a bargain and when she tried them on she looked so beautiful how could I resist, anyway that's what Mums are for aren't they...my card for today is using one of the amazing Funky Kits Simply Adorables, this one is called Victoria...oooohhhhhh how I love colouring these, I think its the eyes and hair...I used my usual distress inks to colour her and the papers are scraps, this is my only crafting resolution this year, to use up gorgeous scraps and not waste them...the blue swirl is an Echo Park Christmas papers and the gingham is from Craft Creations...I finished with a fabulously silky striped ribbon and bow, a couple of roses and leaves and a ceramic sentiment...the gorgeous sketch is from The Scrapbook Sisters sketch challenge and I'm also entering it for The Ribbon Reel challenge and CES challenge too...I'm going to have a crafting and commenting catch up day today, I'm so behind on surfing all your gorgeous blogs and I miss surfing them, I love a good nosey at what you have been up to...whatever your up today I hope you manage to stay the temperature you want to be

a bit of time and some favourites...

Good morning everyone, I hope your all well...well we hit the shops yesterday and I got a huge bargain...an oven mitt lol...it was a bargain but hardly enough to get me excited I'm sorry to say, I looked at loads of sale goodies but found nothing that I really wanted so I will save my gift cards for something I really want instead of just buying something from the sale because its a bargain...my Dad is loads better thank goodness and since he started taking the re hydration solution he even looks lots better, but like most people he doesn't drink enough, I did try to tell him that tea doesn't count lol...do you have anything planned for New Years Eve then, we never do anything, in fact its usually just another night, we will maybe have a glass of wine at midnight, so go on make me jealous with all the lavish lush parties your going too...my card for today is to wish you all a very Happy New Years Eve, this gorgeous little fella is TeddyBo_84 and I coloured him with distress inks, these lush papers are from the Prima Printery 6x6 paper pad, I love this pad, the papers have an aged Victorian feel to them...the large clock is an acetate one from Kaisercraft that I bought at the last Kings Hall craft fair I went too, gorgeous isnt it...I finished with more clocks cut from the same pad and a swirly ribbon...the fab sketch is from the Crafty Ribbons challenge and I'm also entering it for the Cute Card Thursday challenge and The Ribbon Reel challenge...

have you seen the lovely Debby has a five favourite cards challenge at this time of year, she has one for Christmas Eve (which I missed) so I was determined to join in with her New Years Eve one, why don't you hop on over and enter too as you can win some candy for entering...
so here goes with my five favourite cards of 2011...boy did I find it hard, not because there is so many of them my favourites but because I make an awful lot of cards and had to go through them...I hope you like them too, the names above them are their links to the posts
phew that was a long one so thanks for sticking with me...have a fantastic New Years Eve everyone and I wish you and those you love the best for 2012

if at first...

Good morning everyone did you all have a fabulous weekend...wow how windy was it, I thought our roof was coming off at one stage....well Phil made his Dundee cake for my Dad again and this time it worked beautifully...we discovered what went wrong the last time too Phil forgot to adjust the temperature for a fan oven so it would have been too hot but as you can see the cake is gorgeous and it smells incredible...my Dad is so lucky hes getting it whole as it was so tempting...my kitchen smelled so much like Christmas yesterday as Phil was stewing the fruit for his Christmas cake, the mixture of fruit and alcohol is so scrummy smelling....yum yum yum

right now onto my card for today, I tried to make a Christmas card that was just a bit different but I don't think it worked at ll...oh well back to the drawing board lol...I used this lush Christmas cupcake from Meljen Designs and just shaded it and glittered it up adding some chocolate holly (well it seemed like a good idea at the time lol) and a chocolate coloured ribbon...the lush paper is really glittery and embossed and is another of the ones I bought from my local craft shop that doesn't have a name on it...

I added a chocolate coloured scrunched ribbon and a scattering of pearls to finish...this is one of those cards that I'm really not happy with (we all have them don't we) there's just something not quite right about it and Im so not happy with the colouring...I think I'm having a mojo crisis lol...Im entering this for the Totally Gorjuss challenge, The Ribbon Reel challenge and the Lollipop Crafts challenge too...I'm of to kick some serious butt to get my Dads car sorted out today, heads will roll and I will yell out if I need the rest of your fab girls for backup lol, thank you all for your support of my Dad yesterday, it so isn't right is it...whatever your up to today have a fantastic one and I hope wherever you are the weather isn't too bad

getting all sentimental...

Good morning everyone...did you all enjoy the blog hop yesterday, didn't the DT girls do amazing work...I hope you remembered to leave a comment on all the blogs so you get a chance of winning one of the Mo's vouchers...well yesterday I had a crafting day and my lovely Phil made pies for dinner, our Daughter, partner and my wonderful Dad came for dinner too...lovely night...we had one of those conversations yesterday, all you married people will know what I mean...I was in my craft room and Phil had the TV in the kitchen really loud, so when I heard him come out the kitchen I shouted down 'your TV is really loud, I cant hear myself think'...his reply 'I haven't switched it up...it was that loud ten minuets ago'??????????...now what on earth does that mean, after a few seconds thinking I started laughing and he couldn't understand what I was laughing at...it wasn't that the TV had got louder, I had thought it was loud since it had been switched on but hadn't had the chance to tell him is all lol...Phil's a wonderful chef, cooking to me is a chore, I think its because I spend so many meals alone, my idea of cooking is a bowl of cereal...Phil cooks himself full meals with dessert...my card for today is for our new challenge at Just Magnolia & hAnglar & sTanglar challenge, this week is the amazing Claudia's choice and she chose Out of the Box Sentiments, so use something that's not the normal sentiment, if you check out the DT's blogs you will see what I mean, I used this gorgeous new Magnolia stamp from the Winner Takes it all collection, shes called Basket Tilda, isn't she so cute with her basketball...I coloured her with distress inks and teamed her up with these wow papers from the Authentique Blissful paper pad, the pad and stamp are from Bunny Zoe's Crafts, I finished my card with a printed sentiment, some buttons and a grey satin knot, the fab sketch is from Tuesday morning sketches challenge, The Ribbon Reel challenge and I'm also entering it for A spoon full of Sugars Birthday challenge...I'm off to the supermarket today with my wonderful Dad and Phil and maybe out to lunch or some of Phil's lush pie (he made a secret one so we could have some left as everyone takes bits home with them)...whatever your up to today have a wonderful one
