pink and girly and no more beasties....

Good morning everyone, I hope your all well and enjoying some sunshine...well I did go out yesterday and just managed to get back in through the door when the heavens opened...see told you if I went out it would tiddle down, but I did manage to get some blogging done last night and I really enjoyed it too...many apologies to all those people still running around screaming from last night when I showed you all my wee beastie from the craft room...I think it must have something to do with the warm weather as I had some cereal last night and guess what I found in it...an earwig...I have a thing about earwigs, when I was young we always came to Ireland to stay with our Gran and I remember getting up one morning, hurrying to get dressed and pushing my foot into my shoe feeling something in there and when I tipped it up three earwigs fell out...I had the screaming abdabs and ran around my Grans house completely freaked out so since then earwigs make me squirm, so you can imagine how far I threw the cereal bowl although I wish I had got rid of the earwig before I threw it as I couldn't find it after...uuuurrrrrggghhhhhh...right now onto my card for today which is for our new challenge over at Colour Create challenge, this weeks its our lovely Julies choice of Pink, White and Green with the added option of Cooking (oops I forgot) don't you just love this colour combo its one of my favs...I used this stunning little Nellie C's Flying frog stamp from the new release from Nellie Snellen, I coloured it with distress inks and of course had to add some glitter glue didn't I...well fairies and glitter glue are just meant to be together aren't they...the fab papers are more from the new release Magnolia Sweet Rainbow 6x6 papers these are Dark Pink Rainbow flower and Light Pink Rainbow Flower, the sentiment is a stamp from the Kaisercraft mini stamp set - Friends set (these sets are amazing value), these are all from Bunny Zoe's Crafts and I finished with some lace, ribbon and flowers and punched leaves from my stash, I'm entering this for the Cardmadfairy digi days challenge which is Oh so girly and the Fussy and Fancy Friday summer challenge too...right I'm going to have another craft day today...when you have time pop on over to Colour Create to check out the rest of our wonderful DT's fab creations...have a wonderful creepy crawly free day everyone

its all about the Truth...

Good morning everyone, we had a gloriously sunny day yesterday and I hope you all did too, I didn't get out though as I was expecting a delivery of a dehumidifier to help dry out the living room walls at the farmhouse before wallpapering, it was delivered spot on time and the guy carried it to the door and put it into my arms, as he let go my legs buckled omg how heavy was that thing and seriously why did the delivery guy expect me to carry it, as I went down he grabbed the box apologising for nearly breaking my back...remind me next time I'm expecting a delivery to take up weight training before it arrives will you lol....there wasn't much crafting done here and I still haven't had time to get around to you all and your fab blogs, but I promise I will tonight...come rain hail or shine I will be blogging tonight...I have bowed to popular demand and will post my creepy crawly piccy but will do it separately tonight for those of you who don't like them...I'm not that evil lol...right onto my card for today which is for the new challenge by the Crafts and Me challenge, I'm the host this week and I chose the theme of Ribbon for the challenge, now lets face it I rarely make a card without it do I...how stunning is this amazing digi called Truth (aaaahhhh now you see where the title came from) you can get her at Crafts and Me of course, I coloured her with distress inks and teamed her up with a half a sheet I had of this beautiful Graphic45 paper, I'm sorry I don't know the name of it though, how lush is that gold wired ribbon and it makes fantastic bows, the sentiment tag is made from a punch and more of the lush paper, when you have time I would love to see you join in with the ribbon challenge and dont forget you dont need to use a Crafts and Me image or stamp for it either...the fab sketch is from Mojo Monday and I'm also entering this for the Totally Gorjuss challenge too...I really am going to get out of the house today, I bet it rains lol...have a wonderful day everyone

would you like to swing on a bauble...

Good morning everyone did you all have a nice day yesterday, I'm shattered I was locked in my craft room for hours yesterday, trying to catch up with work but I hadn't slept well the night before and everything seemed to be like running through treacle, I bet you know just what I mean...I did manage to get a lot done but I need another lock in day to get the rest finished...I had a photo of a freaky little multi legged friend who visited me in my craft room yesterday and caused a lot of screaming and running around but I thought it might freak some of you out so I didn't post it, if there is popular demand I will show you it though lol...I had to colour this fantastic new image from Mo's Digital Pencil, this is one of the amazing Little Elf's and this beauty is called Little Elf Mim, this little elf made me smile and she is just such a sheer pleasure to colour, I used my usual distress inks to colour her and paper pieced part of her hat and the bauble...now how fabulous are these papers, I bought this Kaisercraft paper pad Velvet Ensemble from Bunny Zoe's Crafts and I have to say if you don't buy anything else get this pad, the papers are just the lushest colours and their velvet and foil and embossing and wow I love it can you tell lol...btw I just wanted to say a few months ago when I said the same thing I got quite a nasty email saying I shouldn't recommend something by saying I bought it when it was obviously a freebie...hand on heart everyone if I say I bought something I bought it I promise you and have the bills to prove lol...right back to the card, the circle I stamped the sentiment onto is from the same pad too...I finished with some lush grey satin ribbon and a bow...the fab sketch is from Pink Ink Sketch Challenge and I'm also entering this for the CES challenge and Sir Stampalot challenge too...right I'm off out to town or for a walk or well...er...anything I can think of as I need the fresh air to clear my fuzzy brain...whatever your up to today have a fantastic day everyone

the first of many...

Good morning everyone I hope you all had a good weekend, I had intended to have a blogging night last night but I fell asleep and didn't wake up for hours so many apologies everyone but with all the DT work I have atm its going to take a teeny while longer to get round all your lush blogs, but I will I promise...well we raided the attic, what exactly is it with men and attics...whenever I go to look for something Phil has always 'tidied it away' in the attic...must be their bear instinct and they are hiding them for when they hibernate...I found the bed covers I was looking for though, then we had a little mooch in the Town, and I convinced Phil he had to have a feature wall in the farmhouse living room and for that he needed wallpaper, I even managed to get him to buy the one I had my eye on...omg how good am I at convincing lol...although Phil bless him would give me the earth if he could...right my card for today is one of the first of many many Christmas cards I will have to start making and what a perfect excuse to use this cutie Sugar Nellie stamp called Snow Buddies...how sweet are they together, I coloured them with distress inks and added loads and loads and loads of glitter but I think I put a tad too much on the snowman and he ended up with a dirty looking face from it all...the gorgeous embossed and glittered paper is from Making Memories and the sentiment is from a page of sentiments from them too...I used some lush glitter board to punch out some Martha Stewart snowflakes and a smalled older punch too, I finished with a couple of ribbons and a bow...the lush sketch is from Stampin' Royalty challenge and I'm also entering it for the Allsorts challenge and I'm sure their was a Christmas challenge somewhere but I forgot where...I'm off to my craft room today and am determined to get all the work that needs done finished and sorted out so I can get blogging tonight...whatever your up to today have a good one

a sneak peek...

Good morning everyone did you all have a fantastic day yesterday, Phil loved his watch and for some weird reason kept telling me the time all night, he reminded me of a kid with their first watch lol, Im happy to report the dress doesnt fit...its too BIG wwwoooohhhooooo...on a more serious note did you all see that Amy Winehouse died how shocking is that...what a total waste of a young talented life, she was only 27, just a year older than my Daughter, my heart goes out to her loved ones, and the horrific shocking news from Norway... all those teenagers enjoying their holidays and that happens...I listened to the stories with rising feeling of horror and panic yesterday and how crazy was it that he is supposed to be christian...the world is going crazy rapidly isn't it...I gave my Dad and Phil and extra tight hug yesterday and rang my Daughter just to hear her voice last night as the Norway tragedy really got to me, such a sad waste...my card for today is a sneak peek for you of one of the new release stamps from Crafts and Me, this is one of the new Art Deco stamps, in fact its so new it doesn't even have a name yet...this is a sample card for the Stamparama Show in Stevenage on the 14th August, this and loads of other stamps will be released that day...oooohhhhh wish I was going to be there....I coloured this stunning Art Deco couple with distress inks and the lush paper is from Prima Madeline collection and is called Skyward, its quite hard making samples as they have to be much smaller than I'm used to making and as flat as possible so they have less risk of being damaged, so all I used was some of the butterflies cut from the lush paper...I'm entering this for the Simon Says Stamp challenge as the paper has newspaper print on it...I'm off to raid the attic today, well what I really mean is Phil will be draggng it all down for me to see whats there...whatever your up to today have a safe and enjoyable day

a vision in blue ready to tuck in...

Good morning everyone I hope your all well and happy...I met with my wonderful Dad yesterday for coffee and general putting of the world right, he told me he had got a speeding ticket through the post and was ranting and raving about it and was very angry with himself for being 'so stupid' as he put it, well I told him that anyone that drives as fast as him wants to thank his lucky stars he has made it to 79 without one...I don't think he was impressed but it made him chuckle anyway and cheered him up lol...hes off on his travels again this weekend, off to my Sister in Belfast for a few days then flying to stay with my other Sister in England for a couple of weeks...I love to see him head off, don't get me wrong its not that I wont miss him because I do a lot but I just think at his age you never know what will happen to stop him being able to travel so he should go for it just in case don't you...right enough waffle Mina onto my card for today which is for our new challenge over at Just Magnolia & hAnglar & sTanglar challenge...this week its our fabulous Dena's turn to host and she chose the theme of cooking, well I think I must have been a bit hungry when I made this as it has more to do with eating than cooking lol...I used the stunning Simsalabim Tilda (who's on sale atm at Bunny Zoe's) but masked off her wand and put a magnolia knife and fork stamp in its place, I also masked Tilda and used one of the Magnolia Muffin stamps behind her, I think they worked together for this don't you...I coloured them with distress inks and teamed them up with some more of the amazing new papers from the new Magnolia Sweet Rainbow collection papers, these are called Blue Foliage and Turquoise Plaid, I love these new papers, so so lush...I also added some of the new Marianne D Flower ribbons, this one is the White Organza...I finished with a beautiful satin edged ribbon called Sheer Elegance White from The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop, the fabulous sketch is from Stamp with Fun challenge, I'm off to catch up on some DT work today so if you don't hear from me send food parcels (with a few crafty things stashed inside) lol...have a fantastic day everyone and when you have time pop on over to Just Magnolia to check out the rest of the teams amazing creations

love is....purple and pink with pearls...

Good morning everyone, how are you all doing...well there was no supermarket rage yesterday although I did get hoping mad at a young woman in a huge 4x4 who parked in a disabled spot stopping someone disabled getting it...its one of my pet hates atm, I wouldn't dream of parking in a disabled spot as I know with my Dad walking with two crutches how hard it is for disabled people to struggle into shops never mind having to walk further to do it...I really have to stop myself going up to their window and telling them off well me and Dad has to stop me lol...is it just me or have the prices in the supermarket shot up lately by a shocking amount...right enough of the ranting Mina and onto my card for today which is for our new challenge over at Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge, this week it was our wonderful Mindy's choice and she chose a colour challenge of Pink, Purple and to add pearls, I kinda groaned when I saw this colour choice but must admit it works so well, I used the gorgeous Lying Tilda from the new Magnolia Sweet Rainbow collection, shes coloured with distress inks and I used some of the new lush Magnolia sweet Rainbow 6x6 papers the patterned one is called Dark Pink Foliage and the check is called Pink Plaid, the Tilda and papers are available at Bunny Zoe's Crafts...I finished my card with some punched heart and Papermania glittered letters to make the love sentiment...when you have time pop on over to Just Magnolia and have a look at the amazing cards the rest of the DT made...I'm off to lock myself in my craft room today to catch up with some work...whatever your up to have a brilliant day everyone

Good morning everyone, I hope your all well and getting some sun wherever you are, we are finally having some and it even hit 25degrees here yesterday, I know what a shock eh...long may it last...my wonderful Dad looks so well and happy and we had a giggle, coffee and chatted away with people we met, its lovely seeing people smile all because the sun is shining, then last night about 7.30 I got a call from him, his TV has broken down and can I fix it...so of I trots in my pj's to my Dads and fixed it, it wasn't the TV the remote had been dropped and the infrared light had moved and was hidden so it wasn't getting through to the tv, I told him in the future I'm charging a £50 call out fee for after 6pm house calls lol..he says thank goodness we have one person in the family who can cope with technology lol...my card for today is for our new challenge at Colour Create and this week is our wonderful Di's turn to choose and she chose Aqua, light Pink and Cream with an added option of Ribbon...now come on when don't I use ribbon on a card eh lol...I chose to use this stunning new Candy Pip stamp from the new release at Sugar Nellie, isn't she gorgeous, I'm just sorry I didn't get a chance to colour her better as my mojo is in recession at the mo, I coloured her with distress inks and paper pieced her dress...I will have to give her another try I think...the papers I used are from my scrap box and I used a lush sentiment ribbon, satin ribbon and gingham ribbon...I finished with a few aqua coloured pearls to finish...the fabulous sketch is from the brand new Pink (Ink) Sketch challenge, although I had to move things around a bit so hope it still fits and I'm also entering this for the Simon Says Stamp anything goes challenge...I'm off to the supermarket with my Dad today and lets hope the sun shines so there's no chance of supermarket rage...whatever your up to today have a fantastic one

Good morning everyone, how are you all well and happy I hope...oh I forgot to tell you all yesterday that I still haven't given up the hope of using Aqua and green on one of the bedrooms so watch this space, I'm off out for a shopping trip and coffee with my wonderful Dad today and we hopefully be catching up as he was away when I was except he was with my Sister in Belfast and went travelling about in her caravan, it sounds like he had fun but hes exhausted the poor fella so he will hopefully be recovered enough for a 'put the world to rights' coffee session today...isn't it weird how your Parents kinda reverse roles when they get in their 70's and 80's you start to worry about that so much, almost like you become the parent...but sssshhhhh don't tell him I told you that lol...right onto my card for today which is for the digi team's new challenge at Crafts and Me challenge, this time our host is the fab Vix and she chose the theme of Summer, now nothing says summer like some beautiful flowers and even better when they are teamed up with a beautiful fairy like Button, shes one of the new digis from Crafts and Me, I coloured her with distress inks and teamed her up with these lush K&Co papers, gorgeous colours aren't they, I finished by adding some of the flowers cut from the paper, ribbon and a friend tag...when you have time pop on over to the Crafts and Me challenge and see what the rest of the team came up with, and check out our newest members Jane and Rose's lush work...the sketch I used is from Sketch Saturday and I'm also entering this for the Totally Gorjuss Summertime challenge and the Allsorts Free and Easy July challenge too....speak to you all tomorrow and I will report back if my Dad has recovered from his time away

summer fun and one of last weeks mishaps...

Good morning everyone I hope your all having some glorious sunshine, the weather (hang on until I find a piece of wood to touch) is lovely here, not roasting hot but sunny and bright...I have to tell you something that happened to me while I was away and hand on heart these things really do happen to me, I haven't a clue why but they happen very often...I think someone up there is taking the mickey you know lol...on the drive to the farmhouse we found a warehouse that sold old furniture and you all know how I like a rummage, so we parked and off we went for a mooch...I should have guessed really when I saw the state of the stone stairs leading down to the place that it wasn't a good place for me to be really...there were a few nice pieces but all the things I liked someone with the same taste had nabbed before me...off we go upstairs to look at stuff that had just come in the fella who owned the shop told us...wandering round not a care in the world then the earth moved as my foot and leg up to my calf went through the floor...now I don't know who got the biggest shock, me, Phil or the fella below, luckily I wasn't fully on that leg if you know what I mean or I really would have gone through the floor...the guy had the nerve to shout up asking if I was ok, I will be fine I shouted when I have recovered from the heart attack that caused me, needless to say we didn't look anymore and left with Phil shaking his head like he does when these things happen to me...right onto my card for today which really should have gone on yesterday but never mind its here now, its for our new challenge over at Bunny Zoe's Crafts monthly challenge which this month is fun in the sun and I thought this fantastic new stamp from the new release by Whimsy stamps called Fairy Daydreams fit the bill playing peek a boo in her flower, I coloured her with distress inks and teamed her up with these beautiful new papers from the Basicgrey 6x6 Sweet Threads paper pad, lush colours aren't they, the beautiful little dragonflies are from a set called Wooden Ornaments Flower Animal No 1, I stained them with distress inks and glittered aren't they so gorgeous, the sketch is from The Corrosive challenge and I'm also entering this for the Stamp Something Bugs or Butterflies challenge, Stampin for the weekend Wings and Things challenge and the Stampalot anything goes challenge too...right I have taken up enough of your time today so will pop off to my craft room to get a bit more colouring done...have a wonderful day whatever your up to

look what I got...

Good morning everyone, how are you all I hope everything is good with you all and your all well and happy...Im back yep me in real life, I actually got back on Saturday as Phil decided to drive me back and spend a couple of days here, I think he just wanted a rest bless him...right hands up everyone who knew I would go back to Laura Ashley and get the wallpaper...well you were right we went last Saturday morning just before we left...mind Phil had to drag me kicking and screaming out of the shop before I bought everything in the sale lol...heres the wallpaper and material I bought...lush isnt it
on our way down last Saturday we stopped at a little village called Moy and found an antique village there, it was fabulous, about 4 houses jammed packed full of antiques and knick knacks, theres even a fab coffee shop next door so I knew with a good start like that we would have a productive week and despite a few mishaps (including something that could only happen to me lol) which I will tell you about this week everything went pretty smoothly, we decided instead of Phil paying horrendous rent on his one bed apartment we would do our very best to get the house habitable so he could move in asap, so designing went out the window and I went for a clean simple look for our bedroom which works really well, the design touches will have to come later...of course that meant a trip to Ikea for the sale so we could buy the biggest bed I have ever seen...you have to go to the Ikea sale if you havent been we got a huge triple wardrobe for the bedroom for an unbelievable £17 yes £17 would you believe...so heres the before shot of the bedroom, its not a good shot as the room was very smelly and stinky, I have never seen dirt like that on wallpaper...
and the after...well after stripping the dustiest, dirtiest wallpaper ever, washing the walls down, two coats of cream paint and two coats of cream gloss and a lot of flat pack building (I love building flat pack furniture dont you), this is what it looks like now...what do you think
the bed is massive 168cmsx200cms and the headboard is just as huge and as tall as me but I found a bargain bedspread at Argos that actually fits it...I maybe should have ironed the bedding before the photo though lol...the room has a wonderful airy bright feel to it, after that we sorted out the kitchen and bathroom and moved Phils stuff in and we stayed there from Thursday night...have you ever been in the country at night, the darkness is really dense as theres no light polution like you get in a town...and so so so quiet too...I woke on Friday morning and thought wow those cows sound loud, opened the blind and it was like a western film scene, the cows had got loose and had surrounded the house...I took one look, cows really are huge arent they, and thought...nope they can stay there until the farmer gets them lol....right enough waffle, sorry about the long post but it could have been three times longer you know so consider yourself lucky lol....Im off to collect a parcel from the PO and then I really have loads of work and commenting to catch up on...have a wonderful day everyone
